• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Turnpike tolls

While on a recent vacation, driving our RTS and pulling the trailer the wife and I went from OH to Pa. It was then that I was informed of my toll to drive 11 miles on the Pa turnpike. Passenger vehicle toll is $3.90 but since I was pulling a trailer and had 3 axles my toll was $7.75. We were both not happy about that since our gross weight was about equal to Chevy Aveo and we were charged the same as a straight truck with 3 axles having a gross weight of 24,000 lbs. Well my ranting to the attendant didn't change anything so the toll was paid. Has anyone else encountered this while traveling with the trailer, where? and what was the toll? If for no other reason so I won't be suprised in the future. Thanks

I don't think that charging by the axle is uncommon. If you cross the Mackinac Bridge (in Michigan) you'll find a motorcycle or trike will pay the same toll as a car.

Pretty much standard fare, whether towing with a car or motorcycle. The logic is that this charges more for multi-axle trucks and trailers, which weigh more, but it does snag motorcylists, who feel cheated somehow. Unless you ride a unicycle, better get used to it. The trade-off is to come to Michigan, which has no toll roads...but they are lousy roads! :roflblack:

Ride in MI = Mandatory Dental Plan!

You forgot to add that the added out of pocket cost is then made up at your dentist office replacing your loose fillings! Yes the roads are, and have always been, terrible (I was born & raised in MI so I do know!). nojoke :roflblack: :roflblack:

I tow my Rhino or my ATVs with my truck Using EZ pass. This one bridge i go over 2/3 times a month into PA. They charge 60 cents for the truck and 60 cents for the trailer. That's way it's done. But I'm sure if you argue long and hard enough,
The bail money will be more than the toll money.:roflblack:

Always been charged by the number of axles you have. They can't possibily weigh every vehicle at the toll booth.

IN Florida you pay the tolls by axles, We pull a trailer with the RT so we pay for 3 axles, If you wont to save money get a E- Pass they set it up by the axles you have, When I you's a stright truck [Two axles ] they charge the company for five axles truck we take the e-pass out of hour tractor an use it when we need to:ani29:.
