• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Turn signal switch drives me crazy

Is there a trick to using the turn signal switch.

Whenever I try to cancel the turns there is no real off position, I push straight in and either
turn on the opposite side or they don't get canceled.

Ya I no they time out but 30 seconds is a bit long for a lane change and they cancel after most turns.
On my other bikes there has been a clear center push on the switch, the Spyder does not.

Do I have a bad switch or they all that way?

They are tricky. I takes some time to get used to pushing straight in. A little to either side and you have to start over. It does help to hold the button in for a couple of seconds, then release. That usually does better on cancelling. If you continue to have problems, talk to your dealer about it. There have been a few bad switches, but mostly it is a weakness in the design. The RT spring is stronger to push in than it is to push to the side, and there isn't much room for error.

I've noticed this too... I had a habit from previous bikes of hitting the center position in order to cancel the signal.... even after simple turns..... did this on my GS.... but causes more problems on the RT--- so i've just learned to let the Spyder handle it all......

Same problem here. I mess up on the cancel at least once or twice a day. I would say its bad design--it can't be me. :roflblack:

Try pressing it in and holding it in for a second or two. I had the same problem when ever I tried to just press it quickly but found a one-second press and hold made it work better without giving the people behind me the evidence they needed to prove that I was an idiot. :sour:

It is an ongoing problem with the switches....but I had to have mine replaced because of another issue and I don't know if BRP did something with the switches, but the new one is 95% better when it comes to cancelling a turn.

It's not the greatest design, but to me it's not that big of a deal I guess. The first thing I do after having completed whatever maneuver I signaled for is to cancel the signal. At first I'd end up with the opposite signal flashing. After having done it for a few thousand miles now. It's no longer an issue. That said, we all have our pet peeves.
