• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Turn signal question

I bought a 2011 RT about 2 weeks ago, my first Spyder!! It is SO much fun to ride on the variety of roads that we have in our area. A question that I have is that the turn signal indicators are small and hard to see, is there a way to fix that or make them more visible to me? :lecturef_smilie:

Thanks!My spyder front.jpg

turn signals

AutoZone has LED strips (two 12" strips for $20 or two 8 inch strips for $16) in amber or red--these can be cut to length-- inexpensive add to bike -- I made the mistake of adding 2 strips to each mirror -- too bright -- one strip to each mirror is fine -- these adhere to the housing of the mirror facing rearward -- but I did disassemble my mirrors to wire up -- can be seen real well from behind trike also (AutoZone has other colors also -- the whole back of my trike is lit up with red LED run/brake lights now -- wife says it looks like a UFO coming down the street at night!! -- cost $20 to make a High Mount Brakelight)

If you put the line of leds on the front fenders and have them wired to be turn signals you can very easily see if they are working.

Did this to the wifes 2014 RS --got the TIPS unit from Custom Dynamics -- either way works -- but I use both on my 2012 RTS -- that way you have running/turnsignal lights

The Best thing in my opinion is the Muth signal mirrors. They are not cheap but look professional when installed just like you see on cars.

Let's see..!!

I mounted radio shack mini lights on the dash (far left and right) and has worked well for me. But ours is an RS with smaller mirrors..

A number of owners have installed the jdmtoy sequential arrow leds to the back of the mirror. Look great, OEM in function. Just a bit of work to install. Done 2 sets now myself and helped with 3 more. Great mod for $20 or so.

LED's on mirrors help

Here's what I did to get more visibility to the turn signal indicators. These amber LED's are not as "bright" as the red LED's I had on my 2012.....good luck!:thumbup: I like them because you can still see them in the day and they are not too bright for night.

I don't think there's anything you can do about the turn signal lights in the dash. I had the LED strip lights put on my mirrors and they work like a champ.
