TUNNEL OF TREES....2012

I called and reserved a block of 10 rooms under "Spyder Group" for October 5th, 6th, and 7th at the Petoskey Days Inn. The phone number is 231-348-3900. If you have trouble getting the Spyder Group rate ask for Sharon Armstrong, she is the person I spoke with when setting up the reservation. It's the same place we have used before. The block of rooms consist of 5 rooms with King beds for $85.56 p/night and 5 rooms with two Queen beds for $83.16 p/night.
When you call make sure to ask for the "Spyder Group". I'm thinking of setting up another short ride after we do the tunnel. It will be to Charlevoix to view the Mushroom homes.

Hey Bob I have a few friends who want to do the tunnel ride this fall but they're not riding Spyders. Can I invite them on this trip? Also if they do join us would you prefer they not take any of the reserved rooms or do you not care. I'm thinking it will be 1-3 couples max. Please let me know what your thoughts on this are. Hi Rachel,
Sure I don't have a problem, we're all motorcycle riders. The motel said that if we needed more rooms they would add as we needed them. As of now I think there is around 5 Spyders that have said they were going to come, not sure how many have actually reserved a room. It will be good to see you again.

Cindi & I had a BBQ scheduled for the same time frame so we changed our plans and will be camping instead in the Grayling/Manistee River area in one of our favorite spots...actually a State Forest Campground right on the river. The warm season is gone for the most part...that's when we do campfires, morning coffee on the banks of the stream, and praying for good weather. For those who have never done the Tunnel of Trees...it's a must do..One of the most beautiful rides in the country.

We can add it to Saturday or on Sunday, maybe as a side trip on the way home. It will be up to everyone.

and to meet the other :spyder2: lover. have made the trip up to charlevoix and back many time
to check on my land in charlevoix, my father in law use to work for the city of charlevoix ,till he pass away.

I hope to see some really good picture of all the rides here in Albums !! As some of you know I am in the DEEP SOUTH of China Guangdong, Guangzhou city... not much of a seasonal change here... cool 10C in winter to 38C summers.. Green leaves only fall off when pushed off by new growth. I really miss the beautiful colors of Autumn in Oregon... so looking forward to HOPEFULLY all your beautiful breath taking pics from these rides your on. Hoping I can get a "Y" factor :spyder2: here if I can!

I'm hoping we will still be able to make the trip but my mom is in ICU and has been since Sunday. Things are not looking good so I may not be able to make the trip. Which sucks because I could sure use a stress relieving trip right now.
