Tunes for Cruisin', the Ultimate Playlist

scudrunner

RT-S PE# 536
In rebuilding my iTunes library that was trashed by a defective hard drive, I'm building the Ultimate Cruisin' Playlist. The file contains what I have so far, 8.6 hours of music. My list is not restricted to rock and roll, 60's, 70's or any other era/genre and is not restricted to bikes. I have included all kinds of transportation and even stretched a couple to fit.
The list is sorted by group and if requested, I can create a list sorted by song title.
Here's where I could use some help. If you see a favorite that is not on this list, please add it to the thread. I'll do my best to add it to the playlist. Maybe someday, everyone can have a playlist like this. ;)
Now the PDF file is too big to attach here, so you can get it at the following location for the next 7 days or 100 downloads.
YouSendIt.com
Thanks, enjoy the hunt!

Thanks for the list. Should add a couple dozen to my tunes!

"Semper Fidelis" Sousa March. One of the Best!!:firstplace:

You can always tell a lot about a person's age by their favorite music. As a geezer, I was totally unfamiliar with some...but there were some matches. I had 14 that you had, 5 that had different artists, and 5 that I feel compelled to add to my own playlist. I'll have to sit down a while to make a list of my suggestions...most of which are earlier. I'll leave out the folk and Celtic, although there are some dandies there. Well done!

I'll have to take a look at your list when i get home- Can't download at work:lecturef_smilie:

Good luck in your quest for the ultimate cruisin playlist!
I've got about 3500+ songs on my ipod and about 12,000 in my Itunes library, which is about 20% of my audio library that I have been transferring to Itunes.

My cruising playlist was changing daily, so I just put the ipod in shuffle play and let it decide...it usually does a good job- sometimes seems telepathic!

Once in a while it reminds me I need to pull those Christmas tunes off of my ipod...:roflblack:

oh ooohhh CASE OF HAPPY FEET..........................

GOTTA DANCE!

As a geezer myself, I do have favorites from the 50's, 60's and 70's. But as one who has an appreciation for good music, my range is from classical to current, country, bluegrass, jazz... well, everything but (c)rap.

Oh, and John Phillip Sousa was one of the best..... Semper Fidelis? Must be a Marine! My favorite is Stars and Stripes Forever, all the rest of Sousa's marches are second.

Good start, keep them coming. And I'll post a By Song

Way Cool

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this. Mine is about 6 hours long, but I'm always looking to add to it.

Here's my list attached.

Great stuff! I have an entire playlist of marches and patriotic songs. Besides John Phillips Sousa, I love Kate Smith's rendition of God Bless America. :D

I don't listen to much classical, but I do have a bit, some jazz, bluegrass, lots of Celtic, oldies from the 50s and 60s, and especially folk. I also have a great hotrod tunes playlist. Guess you'd have to call us both eclectic! :D

Great list, ThreeWheels. A few duplicates, but lots of new additions! Thanks!

Come on Scotty, don't hold back! I've got a bit of folk too. Kingston Trio, PPM, Chad Mitchell Trio, Limelighters. I haven't inventoried all that I lost, but it's about 7 days worth of music, somewhere around 20 gb.

Nice list

Although I can't see myself pullin out and jammin to Cracklin Rosie :D
I noticed you had some of the Rolling Stone top 500. I made that a hobby within a hobby to get all 500 as a playlist. That made a good cruisin list as well.

...
I Am I said

And No one heard at all
Not even the chair

Great list! Pretty much a nice variety which makes each ryde different. I'm adding some to mine off this list...no question.

But...No James Taylor? No Pink Floyd? :yikes:

It's a work in progress! I'm putting an "ADD" list together. Need more suggestions!
