• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tucson Bound

Well, arrived in Tucson a week ago today, and am sure enjoying this weather. Been riding the Spyder as much as possible.
I met my brother up on I-10 last Thursday near Arizona City, and we rode back to Tucson, taking the scenic route, via Saguaro National Park.

Friday he and I rode 190 mile round trip to Tombstone, Az. via the back roads. (Sorry srarndt, that I didn't see your post in time to call you.) We had a great time in Tombstone walking the streets and re-learning our history. Places like the OK Corral, Boothill, etc. The weather was a perfect day for a great ride. On the way back, we did pass a blue spyder, going in the opposite direction. Just got the wave.

Saturday, I did get to meet up with dryheat and jrl.spyder. I will try to post tomorrow our adventure and a few pics.

South East AZ, what a great area to ride. I was stationed at Ft Huachuca for three years back in the early 80s. I guess you could say that is where my love of riding started. Tombstone and Bisbee were just a few miles away and great places to visit. Just don't get caught out and about during a monsoon hail storm, ask me how I know.
 
Yesterday, the wife and I had a real nice ride across the Sonoran Desert, west of Tucson, to the Kitt Peak National Observatory.
This Observatory is approx 45 to 50 miles west of Tucson and is at the 6,880 ft elevation. (yes we did see snow) The ride up to the top was spectacular. It was like being on top of the world. I couldn't guess how far you could see. The road in the valley in the pic gives you an idea of the height. It would be neat to take the night tour there, but reservations need to be make a few weeks in advance. Anyway, we both had a great time. If we hadn't had the Spyder, this is another place we probably would never have seen.

Love your trip report

Big Arm,
I love your trip report and the photos you posted. I'm glad you're getting some ryding in after spending the winter in Sioux City, Iowa. You certainly deserve some miles on the Spyder after enduring this last winter. I can live vicariously through the trip reports of yours until I can get out and ryde.
