• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trunk as a Cooler

Has anyone used the trunk as a cooler (filled with ice). I'm wondering how long I can expect it to stay mostly frozen since it isn't insulated. Outside temps are supposed to be in the mid-upper 60s and I have a 3 hour drive to my destination.

We have used the trunk as a cooler at different shows around the country. It's not an ice chest by any stretch but it will get you through most of the day.

People have posted about this, since there are drain holes in the bottom of the trunk, but I don't know if it has actually been tried. Several people have inserted a collapsable cooler or insulated bag. I normally just use a six-pack or twelve-pack soft cooler. If you do use the frunk directly as a cooler, be careful how much you put in it. It only has a 35 pound weight capacity. Even within capacity, all that weight up front will affect handling. Just be aware.

The Spyder does indeed handle differently with a lot of weight up front.

I've exceeded the weight limits a few times......:yikes:

Recently using the Spyder to deliver some USPS mail.......:D

:D
I use a rain cover [plastic] from my soft side bags, I Don't use ice instead i put frozen water bottles in the bag put the bag in the trunk, stays cold all day. And no mess. :2thumbs:

Thanks guys, I guess I'll just fill 'er up and see what happens. I'm going to be handing out Freeze Pops to runners in a Marathon on Sunday.

I put the flat sports rack in the trunk, since I had the back rest on, and drove to the Race Track which is about a block away from my studio (I know sounds lazy but it was an excuse for a quick ride)...

I bought a Monster Energy Drink and a Snickers and put them in the trunk.
By the time I got back to my studio, the Monster had been pierced by the Sports Rack and was spewing energy drink all over the inside of my trunk...
:D Doh!
