Tricled RT Mirror Turn Signals

There is plenty of room. A very easy install on the Mirror LED's. I do suggest just baring the wires and soldering inside the mirror. Putting connectors in there is a little much, just my opinion.
No more trying to see those little green indicators, you can not go wrong on these. They are very bright.

Just installed the LED turn signals on my 2013 RT. pretty easy job. Only took about 35 minutes. I agree the the crimp on tabs for connections are not great. I also opted to bare the wires and solder the connections in the mirror. They look great!

I installed few month ago different LED's on my mirror, no drilling but had to totally disassemble the mirrors.

Did the speed of the blinking changed after this install is done?

Just installed the Mirror LED's and my turn signal blink speed just about doubled. I have the Custom Dynamics HMT Brake-Turn LED's on my trunk and it worked fine before adding the Tricled strip on my mirrors.
I did try the hazard lights and they blink at a normal speed. Must be a different circuit.
Does anyone know of a way to slow them down. I do like the mirror LED's and would like to keep them.

I believe that if you have the trailer harness module, that affects the speed of the blink.

Thanks for the reply. Should have posted that on my first post but there is no trailer hookup and like I mentioned if you unplug a mirror then the blink speed drops back to a normal speed.

I'll put a call into Tricled and see if they can help me. If not I'll open up a new thread rather than hi-jack this one.

BTW, I'm a converted Harley Rider. Love it.

Sharon, I did call Tricled and was told that this happens sometimes. He suggested trying a 220 ohm, 1/2 watt resistor in series with the positive lead. I didn't have any 220 ohms handy but did have a 100. Gave it a try and it did improve but not consistent. I now have picked up the 220's and will swap them out in the next day or two. Will update then.

I thought about the resistor, but when I calculated it I was wrong by a factor of 10 :banghead:, I probably didn't estimated correctly the LED's characteristic.

That's fantastic, sometimes it's hard to tell because depending on what you have on the bike you might need more. The Led pulls about 70 milliamps, using a 330ohm resistor reduces that down to about 30 milliamps and it still is bright enough but will fix the issue some is having.

Thanks Reggy, that 330 ohm one did the trick. When I had the 220 in I would get a fast blink sometimes. Now it's pretty steady. And yes, it is still bright in sunlight.

Pick up something like this at WalMart . . . or the other mart . . . makes for a cleaner connection that is easier to stuff into the mirror, and if you heat it, it helps make the connection weatherproof . . .

Wire Guage is too small

Just hooked up the Mirror LED's on the wife's RT. I didn't like the gauge wire that came attached to the LED's.
The instructions with the LED's showed a heavier gauge and they should go back to it. I ended up
adding about 3 inches of a heavier gauge when one connector gave me trouble. I would even pay more
if it was just plug and play with OEM connectors.

Otherwise they look good and are really bright.

Are the LED wired attached outside the mirror assembly?

After you've drilled a hole, you fish the wires through the hole to what? Are they fished outside the mirror assembly through the harness hole and are then attached to the wire harness?

I put some LED's on my previous RT but it required taking the mirror totally apart and I won't do that again, but thoroughly enjoyed not having to squint to see the little green indicators.
