• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

TricLED Day-Time Running Lights

Just received these DRL's from TricLED. I wanted something that would make me more visible from the front - especially during daylight hours. I think these do the trick, as they are very bright. (The pictures below don't really do the brightness justice - they are brighter than they look here.) I like the high density of this light strip because when they are on, you don't see the individual lights. They look like one continuous light bar.

Mounting them is easy. You clean and prime the A-frame covers (with 3M tape primer to make them stick better). Then you drill a small hole at one end of the A-frame cover to feed the wire through, and then just stick them on. They just get spliced into the wires for the fender running lights with a plug-n-play harness that comes with them. Then you tie up the new wires with plastic wire tires. That's all there is to it.

Here are some pictures, showing a close-up; what they look like in both daylight and at dusk; and finally a night close-up. I think they really do make my RT a lot more visible.

(That's BajaRon's shock adjustor you see in the first picture.)

Looks Good! where I am there is a limit on how many forward facing white lights you can have:gaah:. Yours looks like a UFO!

Thanks for the pics, they look great. Do they help lighting up the road at night? I would like to do something like that to my bike. But mainly for night riding.

Looks great!

If my bumpskid lights don't blind me when looking at it, I might add these too!

Thanks. Those bump skid lights look nice too!. I think you'll really like them. I was trying to decide between those and these DRL's, but I really didn't need a bump skid, after I added the BahaRon shock adjusters.

I have the same lights but haven't gotten around to mounting them. You may have inspired me to get off my lazy butt and put them on.

Hi Rob!
That's a GREAT look!
Does Reggie also offer them in a package of four? nojoke
I want to leave the inattentive folks out there, with THIS look on their faces...

You can see them reflect on the road, if riding at night, but they don't really light up the road. If you are looking for more light on the road at night, you may want to check out TricLED's new Long Distance High Power LED quads that come with a dimmer switch. The web site says the are for 2014/2015 models, but they will fit your 2013 RT as well. Here are some pictures from TricLED's web site...

Thanks for your reply. Do you know if these are plug and play like your LEDs ?

Bob,

That look is what I'm going for as well. ;) Since you already have the bump skid lights, adding 4 of these would surely get you that look.

Reggy might offer a deal on 4, but you could always buy two pair. ;) I had thought of that, but the 2013 RT has those little "winglets" that stick out and hide most of the lower A-frame arm.

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they are not, because you'd want to add a switch to turn them on & off. They come with a switch that is also a dimmer switch. Check out the TricLED website. They are about 40% down that page.

That's right... the lower "appendage" on each side probably blocks the effectiveness... :banghead:
Me? I want to throw enough lumens down the road, to be able to burn my way through a Moose!
