No. The extra wire is for trailers with surge brakes and a disable circuit when in reverse. The trailer wiring is still a 4 wire system.
The 5th wire coud be for the lockout on surge brakes, it could be to activate electric brakes, or I'm guessing with the bike trailer it is used for the amber turn signal, it that's the case the Curt 4 to 5 wire adapter I posted above should work just fine.
