• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer question, which one.

I am looking to buy a trailer to transport my Spyder and wanted to know which trailer some of you have gotten so far. Did a search on the web and can't find anyone who makes one for the spyder.

Here is one that I had custom made for $1500.00. It is 11'x6.4' with the last 3' being dove tailed to allow for loading the spyder without the gate being even taller.

You probably won't find one expressly for the Spyder - too small of a market. We have a monster 8' X 18' X 6.5' tall enclosed Pace trailer with a ramp door (the price was right). A chock was assembled from scrap lumber and plywood and attached to the floor. Run the Spyder in place, both wheels against the chock. Place a strap around each of rear footpeg mounts to the E-track on the floor, pulling down and forward. I do trailer my HD Ultra, too.

Random points:
- Size matters - the Spyder foot print is 5'1" X 9'. A 6' wide trailer with ramp door will be very tight to get the front end through.
- Entrance ramp - shallow angle to allow the Spyder to pass through without snagging the front air dam.
- Enclosed or not - as we trailer out of the frostbitten, salt ladden Northland, enclosed was absolute

The target for my next trailer will be an all-aluminum, 7 X 16 + V-front, with a 5' (or 5'6") ceiling height (Aluma brand). Stand-up room is nice but it is in tow longer than I'm standing in it: height = wind resistance = low fuel mileage. Need to verify the ramp angle which is dependent on trailer height. Both machines will have to be angled into place for this size trailer.

Pauly 1 - who is my wrench - if we get a Diesel pusher instead of a pick'em up truck size wouldn't matter!!! :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: Remember I'm #:firstplace:

Any 6x10 or larger will do. I was lucky and happen to find one on Craigslist 3 days before picking up the Spyder. Got it pretty cheap at $500 and its built like a brick house.

We use a 7x12 V-nose, all aluminum R&R. Extra height, full interior paneling and lighting, and an RV door. Great trailer. With the mods I made we even camp in it at the bike events.

I got the Kendon folding trailer that is 6' x 8' unfolded. The thing I like most about it is that when folded it stands upright against the wall of my garage taking up very little room.

I've attached a photo of the Spyder on the Kendon trailer behind my hitch rack with my '47 Matchless.

Gas is going up here in CA so I bought an aluminum trailer that weighs only 515lbs. Less gas and less stress on my trucks engine. Go to their website swisstrailers.com.
Good Luck

We bought an over-sized ATV trailer that is just larger than 5 x 9. It's not perfect, but it works. Has lots of tie down points too. It's very light-weight (300 lbs) which was a must because we are pulling with our 4 cylinder car (a HHR).

There is a company that does make a trailer for the Spyder... Adventure something in Colorado. They are quite pricey though.

Nice !!! I like your trailer the best so far.

Has anyone used a u-haul (6x10) to tow their Spyder? Any concerns with the ramp angle? In a few weeks I'll need a trailer for 4-5 days and thought that u-haul might be the easiest and cheapest way to go--unless some kind soul in So. Cal wants to lend/rent me their trailer :)

I seem to remember U-Haul's 6x12 is not wide enough due to the rear gate position. You better go measure it before renting it to make sure.
