There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. trailer hitch

Does anyone have a recommendation on where to order the trailer hitch from? It seems to be the same price anywhere I look $499. So looks like it comes down to shipping and taxes that would make a difference.

Thanks All

Thanks I will give cowtown a call and see what they are asking for the unit and shipping, unless someone else comes up with a better price

My 2 cents... if Cowtown is close in price, give them the business since they do so much for all of us.

I have no problem supporting the sponsors - if they are in range I will use them, I just have to crunch all the numbers, price, shipping vs taxes, my tax here is 7.5%, in AL. where I get service I believe it's 4.5%. With a fixed income you learn how to crunch the numbers to get what you need.

Thanks Again

I was so surprised today when installing my trailer hitch on my RT-S. It was without a dought. The easest job I have ever done on any motorcycle ever. Less than 15 minutes. Tools needed needle nose plyers, 3/4" wrench, 3/4" socket. New cotter pin.:thumbup:

Update.. Easy to install hitch. The wiring was a different story. Had to do it old school way. With a test light. If you buy the hitch from BRP it comes complete with everything for the bike end for $499. If you buy everything separate it will cost high sevens low eights. if I had it to do all over again. I would go BRP way.

The trailer hitch is a very simple install. The wiring harness installation is a little more complicated and it's going to take you a few hours. the wiring harness needs to be properly secured so it does not rub against the tire. I went to Home Depot and purchased a 3/4" pipe strap that I riveted to the left side inner fender. I painted it black and it works perfectly.

One challenge I ran into was when I installed the bolt thru the axle, I wasn't able to torque it to between 37-59 ft/lbs. The castle nut ended up on past where the hole was for the cotter pin. I rode about 500 miles over the last 4 days with the trailer with no issues but has any one else run into this?

The hitch is the easy part. What about the harness? You can run the wires so it is completely hidden. No chance to come loose and get into the tire like it did on Rando's Spyder.

:agree: Another couple hours, IF you have an adequate hole cutter or step-bit. I had a slightly larger Forstner bit on hand. But, very do-able none-the-less.
