• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer electrical plug

Four Duece

New member
I have an old Aluma trailer that I pulled behing my Goldwing. Now that I'm a Spyder RT owner I went to use it the first time and the plug on my Can Am is different!!! I called my dealer and they don't seem to know what to do. I have also contacted the trailer dealer and he stated he has never seen this type of connector. Is there an adapter available and where can I get one.

Thanks

As BRP has made numerous changes over the years, it would be helpful to know what year your Spyder RT is & more importantly, what year your BRP trailer hitch is, assuming you have one. They originally had a round 9-pin plug and now have a square 4-pin. There are also BRP adapters available to go to a 4-pin.

This has been discussed extensively on the forum. A search might find all the answers you seek.

2013 trailer hitrch and harness

Well I got my new hitch with the harness today. As Mark mentioned, the plug to the trailer is a square 4 pole. I am going to pull a non BRP trailer so I need a connector to replace the flat 4 on my trailer. Well, I found one. It is a Hopkins plug part # 1147975. I ordered mine from Amazon and I think I got the last one for $3.99 with free shipping. Now it goes through and outside vendor that charges shipping but it's still a deal. You will only need one side to replace the flat 4 on the trailer side. http://www.amazon.com/Hopkins-11147975-Pole-Square-Set/dp/B004BE60ZU

I'm just lazy I guess. Its just easier for me to sit on my computer and let my fingers do the walking.:popcorn:No gas and no tax. I can't get out of the house for $4.
