• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RE: I was under the impression that the red and yellow were the standard colors in 08 and there was a premium price for half moon silver. /QUOTE]

The premier editions in '08 were either yellow or silver. Both selling for the same price. (as far as my dealer was concerned) The red didn't come out till late in the fall of '08.
My '08 PE #2888, just turned eight years old this week. after waiting 10 months for it after ordering it.

Good Ol Days for sure.:yes: We got about the same wait time. I put in my order and $500 in early Sept. My new 2008 arrived in June of 2008. I got the first sold to a customer in AK. Dealer got the other one for himself. I took whatever color came in. It happened to be half moon silver.

I also got the first red (2009 SE5) the next year.

Bob, aren't you and I supposed to be talking Chris out of this? I almost feel guilty for not speaking up.......:roflblack::roflblack:
me too, but when he see's my ride, all the talking I do won't change his mind!!:roflblack::roflblack:

Hi akspyderman,

Re: When it comes to resale value, I think the glamor is long gone.

I completely agree. I just thought it was odd that the website linked had the $400 extra listed.

Re: I did get a snicker when I tried though.
I hope that was a candy bar & not a facial expresion; one is worth more than the other.

No candy bar, just a "****"-eating grin from the dealer. :roflblack::roflblack:

I've always liked using Kelly Blue Book
www.kbb.com

KBB Is a Pipe Dream! Below are the Ratings for my 2012 RT Base sm5 - 15,000 miles.

KBB Trade-in 12,600 Retail 16,600 I only Paid 17,000 Brand new in Sep 2012 with a 3,000 Rebate Plus 1,600 Dealer Discount! Retail was 21,600?
NADA Low Retail 10,725 Average retail 14,115 This is Much More like what people are really getting Used if you ask me.
The Town Tax Assessors and DMV use a NADA Guide price to base Taxes at registration. ( In Connecticut)

My Dealer (Long time friend) Said I could probably get 12,200 for my used 2012 BUT he wanted No part in buying it outright from me unless I was buying another New one and then said he couldn't give me more than 11,000 on a Trade-in.
He did give me KBB Trade-In on my 09 GS SE5 when I bought the F3 Only because someone from Virginia drove up the next day ( To CT) to take it off his hands quick.

That being said my RT is listed for 13,000 and that is 1,500-2,500 LESS than any listing on CL or the regional Cycle Trader!

I have No Need to sell it as I love the 5 Speed and riding it ALL winter. If I get 12,600 I Probably would sell it But any less and I tell them to find a Cheaper one somewhere else because life is short and whoever has the most toys when they die WINS!!!:yikes:

:D If the Missus wouldn't kill me...

I might mention just how nice that Wonderfully-Colored ST-S, would look next to my RT Limited...

Done Deal

Well it's a done deal. After negotiating all morning and afternoon, I got the dealer to give me $13,750 for my STS and I agreed to pay MSRP for the F3. They also agreed to do the first service for free. Not the greatest deal probably, but having a stock 2014 SM5, I didn't have a lot of bargaining power.

Was trying to work with Pitbull, but I couldn't get them to respond. They are either busy planning for Spyderfest, or didn't want To work the trade.

Went with a 2016 F3T SE6 with the radio (Red). It's still in the crate so I can't pick it up until Friday. Need to get 600 miles on in before next weekend so I can get it serviced before Spyderfest.

Now I just have to break the news to the wife. Brent, I know we are sharing a room at Spyderfest, but I may need to move in with you permanently. :yikes:

Congratulations on your new ride! But you are not due for the first service until 3000 miles on the 1330.

I was just reading that in the owners manual. You think it's safe to ride it 1000 miles to Spyderfest during the break in period?

Awesomely

FYI. Thinking first service is 3000 not 600. You might want to chk that. See you at SF
