• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

hey guys I'm new to this...I put down my deposit on April 1st, does anyone know of anyway to track the progress of my bike, obviously I'm VERY EXCITED!! I just want to know WHEN its getting close without having to bug my dealer. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!!!!!! :dontknow:

Not to add to your ???'s but I never once heard from BRP.

I had bad luck with my dealer also. To avoid a long story after 6 months I got a call that my :spyder:
was in. There is a lot more to it than that but due to disagreements with me & the dealer.

I hope you have a good re poor with your dealer.
I am with Lamontster Just keepbugging your dealer.

Good luck, SPYMAN

I can't recall that we ever got a letter notifying us of our Spyder orders. We did get notification that we had orders by getting 2 of the 2.5K owners maps and cards. Other than that, my wife would call the dealer occasionally to see if they had any word of our status or progress. Best we could ever get from them was "you are #3 and #4 on our list" or "we got some this week that went to the people ahead of you, you are next on our list". It wasn't a month later that we both had our Spyders.

I have a tendency to "over" research odd things and the Spyder order/delivery system was one of them, let's see if I can type a sensible answer....
We Americans order American cars and HDs...they send in an order that has our name attached to it and the car/bike is trackable from the time the assembly plant gets our order. On Hondas, Toyotas, Can Ams, etc they do not have the software system set up that way. All Can Am knows is that "location" or "dealership" has taken an order one grey and two yellows, oops add another yellow to ship to " dealership"...all bikes are assembled the same, no accessories are attached...they are shipped separately as accessories are ordered through the local Rep. who tracks the inventory for the dealership. The bikes are assembled, boxed for shipping and the shipping dept sends the appropriate color bikes to the dealership to fill their request for pre-orders and for in-house stock. Can Am has a software system that shows the purchaser, but in no way ties into the assembly plant. My Spyder was not built for me, just to fill an order placed by the dealership. The dealership keeps a list of who ordered the greys, yellows and now reds...first come, first call. If they can't get a hold of you...your on vacation, can't get financing, etc. they call the next on the list. I got mine a month early due to the person ahead of me could not get financing at that moment. After my purchase, Can Am was notified that my name be attached to VIN ####, and that is how their system works. Hope this is not too long and makes sense.

keep buggin the dealer!!!
Mine was scheduled for May, then in January they said definitely March, then in March they said April, then in April they kept saying that it would be in this month but wont know until the driver calls a day before he delivers them...Man, now THATS technology! :dontknow:

I am so glad I did not have to wait. I went to the dealer and they had 2 sitting there in the crates. I picked up 3016 the next weekend. The best thing I ever did ;D

Spydsense and wildwillie, Since you both picked up your Spyders in MI, I am assuming you are both from there or near there. (Good info here for any other MI and surrounding area Spyder owners) Check out these two threads. http://www.spyderlovers.com/smf/index.php?topic=558.0
