• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

TPS Codes P2620 & P1120 - Caused by a dirty air filter?

Today I got limp mode an codes P2620 & P1120 after about a 5 min ride to get Chinese carryout for the family. Came out of the restaurant with my tasty package and got 1/2 mile down the road before it died. These are the same codes I got 60 miles outside Durango that resulted in being towed in by BRP and having the Throttle Possition Sensoe replaced.

I could not get the limp to clear so I limped it home for 1.5 miles at 8-13 MPH - UGH, how embarassing!

Let the spyder sit for about an hour an started her up. Immediate check engine and limp mode, again could not get it to clear.

Then I remmembered the 3.5 miles on a dry dirt road detour we had to take on the way back from Durango. What a mess! The dust cloud was so thick it was almost tough to breathe.

I have the Cold Air Intake from Cowtown so it was on my list to check the air filter when I got home anyway but real life got in the way and have not had the oppportunity yet.

I pulled the airfilter and just banged it on the ground a couple of times and was left with a PILE of course dry dirt and whole dead bugs. I wish I had taken a picture of it before the wind blew it all away but it ws huge and this airfilter was just cleaned a week before the Durango trip.

I put it all back together and did a test ride around the neighborhood. All is good now, no code and no limp modes, hope it stays that way.

Throttle position sensor errors because of a dirty air filter? Is that wierd?

Just an FYI for those of you with a Cold Air Intake from Cowtown and possibly others.

Check your air filter more often - Increased airflo = increased dirt and whole bug bodies!

Those are throttle position sensor codes, but not the codes that normally call for throttle body replacement. Typically they indicate a wiring, connector, or calibration issue. I wouldn't guarantee that they were directly related to the dirty air filter. I'd keep a close eye on things...your Spyder may require a bit more tweaking.

I thought it was odd also and am going to keep an eye on things. I had a throttle body a week before Durango, a throttle position sensor in Durango and I still have TPS codes. The Spyder performed beautifully all the way back from Durango with no issues. It has not been ridden much since I got back, this was the first time in nearly a week.

I think it is just mad at not getting out much!
