Toy Hauler

Anybody out there using a toy hauler to camp and haul Spyder? I am currently looking at one. It will enable me to make longer trips without the cost and hassle of all of the motels and get me out west in the winter time. I currently do dialysis 7 nights a week so I have a lot of equipment and solutions to move in and out of motels. Thoughts?

Toy hauler

I have a 2007 Heartland Cyclone 3210 5th wheel which I bought used two years ago. It works great hauling my 2016 F3 Limited. The separate garage is 10ft by 8ft so I have room on the sides to tie it down. The Spyder doesn't move while traveling. The only way to travel with your ride!!!

It's a 12 footer. The whole trailer is 40 ft. More than enough room. It's as big a unit as my truck would pull. I have a 3/4 ton 2015 Chevy with a duramax. It weighs 16000 full.

I am driving a 1/2 ton Silverado so I am limited. The trailer weight is 6600 lbs. Truck will do up to 9600 lbs.

I really liked the convenience of having my own bed and everything very night. When we were in transit we'd stay on a Walmart lot. Was nice to just crawl in and call it a night!

We have what's called a19ft Sportsman but it's measurement is 22ft from front to back. The left wheel is one inch from the refrigerator cabinet. I installed a small wheel block to the base. We have tow it over 20000 miles the last two year, travel for 300 to 400 miles camp for 4day ride the spyder 3days.

We have a motor-home now that I tow a jeep with. If I want to take the spyder I have to leave the jeep home which is fine except in bad weather and if we want to go shopping (can't fit much in the spyder). I am considering trading the MH in for a class A toy hauler. This way I can bring the bile and the jeep.

And Morturf nice thing with the camper is no flip flops in the shower and I know who slept in the bed the night before and what they did. LOL

This is a Vengeance 29V. A little more trailer than you handle with a 1/2 ton about 8K dry and 10K loaded, 11300 lb GVW. With the spyder my tongue weight is 1250 Lb.

I had a 22 foot Continental Cargo toy hauler... No frills, but the garage area was 15' so it had plenty of room for the spyder or an actually car. It was basic, but had drop down beds, kitchen area with microwave and stove top... No oven and fridge was 110volt only (previous owner cheaped out when ordering)... basic bath and shower.

It was reasonably priced too.
Lots of used ones out there.
