• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

towing the spyder

towing spyder by read wheel

Has anyone towed their spyder by the rear wheel using motorcycle-rack rear wheel towing system model # CARWT500.

If you are wondering why I want to tow my spyder I live alone and it would be nice to take my spyder in for service using my SUV or use my spyder to pick up my USV and then tow the spyder home. Thought about using a trailer to haul the spyder but not sure the spyder could tow the trailer home when leaving the SUV at the survise shop.

Have you tried this yet? Was also thinking about getting one.

Those things are a poor choice for regular bikes and wont work for a spyder. Rear tire is much wider and you are picking up the heavy end of the bike. Take a good look at the holder for the tire. Its designed for a motorcycle tire with a round profile, not the square rear tire of a spyder. Also look at how far back the tire is from the end of the cars hitch, probably over a foot. And they list the max weight as 500 lbs and not recommended for towing behind motor homes.

One other thing to think about is how low the front lip of the spyder already is to the ground. Pick up the rear wheel and you will probably grind off the front on the pavement.

Towed mine home 135 miles on flatbed.
No problems.
Flatbeds may even be more abundant than other configurations.
