• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Totaled Spyder

Another guess but here is what I'm thinking guys and gals.. I'm thinking he crashed his spYder by hitting something right??----Not a whole lot of details on the total however, it could be possible that NO POLICE report was done at all, no ticket given, infact no police showed up at all depending on the situation---I'm thinking he probably just loaded it up on a trailer or something and trailered back home is all... Again, not a lot of details on this accident just me guessing, I hear you all and I understand that differant states have insurance policy's un-related to the state we are in (I think he is from Huligan State if I'm correct) so therefore I am un-aware of the policy's--- I have been told that here in MO one of the reason's our insurance goes up is simply cause of these types of accident.. I'm just glad that he didn't get hurt and it will all work out its just a shame that there was no insurance on it.. Just my two cents worth.

Thank you for the replies. No insurance. May mistake I know please no need to beat a dead horse.
Front end damage. 2009 se5. I will take a screwdriver and Allen set to it this weekend and start posting parts.
Your best bet is to sell it on eBay. Do some research first so you don't low ball yourself. Take the time to get the pieces off completely with all wires attached so you can get top dollars. Clean all the gunks off before photographing it. If you do this right, you can minimize the replacement cost.

No insurance...isn't that illegal?
Maybe he just mean no collision coverage. I know I have just minimal liability on one of my M/C. But Spyder is worth too much $$$ not to have collision on it.

Mostly Torx and Metric sockets.......

Unless the frame is bent, there's no good reason not to get it fixed.

How about some pics?

A body shop won't be of much help -- need to go to a Spyder dealer.

Just to note police report done! Fl law doEs not require mc insurance. My bad paid cash for it and had it less than two months. Ask for insurance quote on Thursday. Accident Friday. I'm more thankful to be Alive! Try to get as much of my investment back and go back to A new machine.
I'd like to thank all of those that have sent well wishes all Naysayers GFY!
This forum has been very helpful and alot have reached out with info and as soon as I start the tool kit moving I'll start posting parts.

Fare enough, that clears it up a bit... We are all thankful that you are alive as well.. I'm leaning toward Firefly, possible get it fixed instead of selling it... It's basically BRAND NEW yet..

'Fare enough'...that's funny...was that a typo or a deliberate play on words?

Anyway, nobody should be on the road without insurance, period...it protects not only you, but others...

Somebody said Florida doesn't have MC insurance laws? So, back to the ole debate about the Spyder not being a motorcycle...where do we stand on that with this issue...hmmmm....

That Florida law is stupid-- not to mention confusing. Apparently you don't have to specifically have MC insurance on the bike--- BUT your regular car insurance must cover it--- and if you get into an accident with injuries they will sock it to you for the next 3 years.

Crazy - especially for a state where you can ride year round.

In Florida under 21 you have to have insurance by law - over 21 not required - of course if your :f_spider: is bank owned then insurance is required.

I think I will keep my insurance no matter what the law requires.

.....and for the rest of us, uninsured/under-insured motorist coverage seems to be the order of the day! nojoke

yeah...but we should never need this...the whole concept of you and me paying more because others are idiots and are trying to rip the system just doesn't make sense...bottom line: don't be a burden to society by not getting insurance...

My motorcycle insurance company thought I was weird for asking for under-insured motorist coverage.... that saved my @$$ when I was 18.... I don't want to learn the hard way.

:agree: but with so many folks out there that do not get insurance...or enough insurance, even in states with mandatory insurance laws...or with all the people who drive without valid licenses, it is wise for the rest of us to get Uninsured/Under-insured coverage. This is especially true for folks in no-fault states that travel elsewhere. I get angry every time I pay the fee, because I should not have to, but I do pay, to cover my behind. I won't cut off my nose to spite my face.

:agree:Last year when i was going over my insurance policy i noticed that my uninsured/under insured only covered up to 15 thousand, So being that
at any given time 60% of drivers on the road don't have any insurance,[that's why there's so many hit and runs] I upped it to 250 thousand. 17 dollars a year extra.
