• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Totaled Spyder

First ... I hope you are insured.

Second ... do not scrap the Spyder

Pay the salvage value and part the unit out. You can get a lot of return on parts if you take your time and put them out. People always need parts and Spyder parts are hard to come by.

Of course I feel terrible that your machine got whacked like that. At least you are OK. The first order of business is to figure out how to get you back on the road with a new machine. That is an insurance deal, of course. But like Man2Wild and Ron said there is definite value in the parts that are still good on the wrecked chassis. Many of us out here would more than likely be intrested in spare parts once they become available. So all is not lost.

Thank you for the replies. No insurance. May mistake I know please no need to beat a dead horse.
Front end damage. 2009 se5. I will take a screwdriver and Allen set to it this weekend and start posting parts.

Lots are thinking it I'm sure but I will go ahead and ask it: "What will you take for it just the way it is?"

The spyder had 3250 miles on it and engine runs. Any person questions or serious inquires I can be emailed at [email protected]. Pretty much everything from the handlebars back are in good shape, fenders and tire good. I also have Nelson rigg bags cl950 and new inbox 2brothers carbon fiber dual exhaust and jb that I never got a chance to put on.

Thanks

Depends on the state but unless it is financed collision isn't required just liability. If I understand the accident correctly shouldn't the driver of the car who hit you be covering your medical and Spyder loss? Won't the other driver's insurance want the Spyder? :D

I was thinking the same thing, but it will all depend on what the police wrote up in their accident report. In many states if you make contact anywhere with a vehicle behind the rear door section, you may be found at fault. Even if the person cut you off, unless their are some good people who witnessed what happened and stuck around to give input to the police, you may still be held liable for following too closely or other such charges. I would definitely check into having the other drivers insurance pay for your damages if you were not found at fault. If you were found at fault, then the Spyder may be the least of your concerns at this point.

How much damage was done to the front end where it was deemed totalled? :dontknow:

At least you are ok...
If you decide to part out, I could use right rear panel and passenger grab handle.

It depends if the state has med pay or PIP. For example, in MD, no matter who is at fault, your own insurance covers your medical expenses, up to a certain dollar amount (that you have contracted for)...after that, it goes to your normal health insurance or it becomes your personal responsibility...as far as damages to the vehicle go, the other person's insurance would be paying.
