Top Notch Sale with Jason with Imotorsports

I am not sure if there is a spot for comments on dealers or not, but I thought I would post it here.
I decided to bite the bullet and narrow my herd down to 1 spyder. So, the second week in April, I sold my 2014 RT to a local guy, and then proceeded to work a deal with Jason at Imotorsports on my 2012 RSS. I was very happy with the trade in value that they were doing for me, so I started the purchase process. I sent him all the info on the RSS, and they got back with me on what the difference would be. 2 days later, I wired them the funds, and my 2016 F3T started being put together. He said I should be able to get it around the last week of April. I explained to him that I had a 5 day trip in Gatlinburg, Tn. planned from 4/25-29. I wanted to let him know that I was OK with not having the new bike until I got home, but I would be riding the RSS, so the milage would go up (Gatlinburg is about 365 miles from Raleigh, NC). After finding out where I was going, he said, he could have it delivered to me at my vacation location:yikes:. I thought, wow, that would give me a chance to directly compare the 2 bikes back to back. We arrived in Gatlinburg Tuesday evening, and I got a call from the delivery driver. He said it was late, but he could meet me with the bike early Wednesday morning:yes:. Wednesday, about 9am, we met in the Walmart parking lot and we did the switch. Jason was sending me a 30 day temp tag, but the delivery guy left early, so he emailed it to me, and I was able to print out the tag and everything was set. I did notice that they had the typical foot peg locations on the bike, so I called and Jason sent me a set of rods to work better for my height. All in all, the sale was great, and I was delivered a bike with .6 mile on the odometer. If I could complain about anything, it would be that I wish service would put about 4-5 miles on the bike to shake things out. Although the bike is great, I think it might need either a front end alignment or wheel balance. I think this is something that should be taken care of before the unit is delivered to any customer. The bike and I arrived home Saturday evening, and my new bike has 1062 well broken in miles.
Here are just a few of the places that we visited last week.
And to Jason, I would just like to say thanks for making all this come together.

We've heard really good things about them! It's nice that they were able to co-ordinate the "Spyder-Swap" with you! :D

Me too!!

I am working with Jason at iMotorsports now to get the "twin" of blacklightning's Spyder - a 2016 intense red pearl, Can-Am Spyder F3-T. So far, I am very impressed with their customer service. Will give an update as the process progresses.

That sure is one beautiful bike. I bought my 2015 RTS from them and have no complaints.

Well after putting some miles on her, do you think you made the right decision selling the RT?

Sounds like one of the "good ones" that go out of the way to make the customer feel they are number one.:bowdown::firstplace::firstplace:

You have asked the number one question that I wanted to discuss. Now that I have owned 3 different spyders, here is my take on comparing all 3.
First I would like to start out by saying that the F3T is NOT an upgrade from the RT series. Not even an upgrade from the base RT model (2014 RT, which is what I started out with). You loose a lot of luggage space in the frunk, a lot in the side bags, and all of the trunk space. There is also the issue of not being able to toggle through the songs on my Ipod while on the go. There is also the issue (big issue) of not having an adjustable windshield.
Now, when compared to my 2012 RSS, The F3T is a lot more comfortable, but I still hate missing out on the additional frunk space. But the saddle bags make things better.
As far as power, I still think the F3T is amazing. I used the throttle lightly, as I wanted to break it in gently. But I do think that the RSS would beat it in a 1/8 mile race.
Now, when it comes to handling, I think that the RSS is a beast, but the F3 series is just easier for a novice to ride fast. If there was a comparison between 2 experienced and capable riders, I believe the RSS pilot would win by a little. For most of us, we would probably be faster on the F3.

Things I like about the F3T:
First of all, I love the cruiser riding position that is so natural to me, as my favorite bike is a Suzuki boulevard M109 (that has been 3 of the 14 bikes that I have owned).
Second, although I am not happy with the loss of storage space, the saddle bags actually hold more that it would first appear.
Third, I am some what of a power hog, and this fits the bill better for me than the RT, while not being too much of an aggressive ride like the RSS.
Fourth, although I loved the looks of the RT, I never liked the unusually shaped, and sometimes useless trunk.

So, in my opinion (and just like ass holes, we all have one), the F3T, or even the F3 Limited will never be an upgrade to the RT, but rather a different riding position, and a different look for different people.

PS,
Final thoughts, it is ashamed that the base RT gets heated grips, and you have to upgrade, or order them for the F3 series.
And I am sure glad that the parking brake on the F3T doesn't engage while going down the road, since it is in the position where the adjustable windshield would be located on the RT.

Based on bits and pieces that I have picked up on from others, I think you have nailed it.:bowdown: My experience is with 2 RS versions and three RT's. No F3's because they don't feel right to me.

This is exactly why I don't think the F3 will ever take the place of the RT. The feet forward riding position will never be for everyone. For some, it will work, but for others, it will place too much pressure on their tail bone, or maybe they just will not like it. I do feel that Can am will need to come up with another version of the RS or GS just to keep the younger people happy. I say this because if I was 10 years younger, I would rather have the riding position of the RS, GS, or even the ST over the F3 anyday.
I owned my RT for 2 1/2 years, and my RSS for only 5 months, but it sure was fun while it lasted.

This is the first thread that I've found that discusses a purchase from iMotorsports.

I've been curious as to how the process works. Does the Spyder arrive fully assembled and ready to ride? And how does it get delivered (ie - Do they have their own delivery service?) I'd love to see an actual video of a delivery....

Best of luck with your new ride!

Sorry, I did not have a video of the delivery, but everything was assembled, with a full tank of gas. It was in an enclosed trailer. Not sure if it was their own delivery guy, or a sub contractor, but everything went great.

The paperwork takes the longest. I financed thru them then refinanced locally once I had the bike. Made it easier. In the paperwork is a power of attorney so they can get the title and registration in your name. Everything needed to be mailed because they need original signatures, not copies.

They loaded my trade after unloading my RT-S. Signed the delivery papers & it's done.:yes::yes::yes:

I have talked with Jason on quite a few occasions (last year)

He is a great guy but was a typical salesman on trade. Their trade deal was lousy to say the least.

Everything they have is gold and yours is not.

Found that I couldn't deal with them. But that is me lots of people had good success with them

Jason

All I can say is purchasing my 2015 F3-S left over from Jason At IMotorsport was a great experience from the start to finish.
Back in CT no one wanted to budge from list price and wouldn't give me squat for my trade , only one local dealer would come close to what we wanted for our trade but wouldn't move one dollar on the F3-S.
Jason gave us what we wanted for our trade trusting the photos we sent showed the actual shape of our 2011 RSS SE5,
and the 2015 F3-S was 5,000 $ cheaper than any dealer in CT. Well for me it was a no brainer was i uneasy sending my title for my trade in and having to wait for my new one to come absolutely. They Delivered the new one and picked up the trade , clean and on time at no charge .

Jason and IMotorsport are #1 in my book.

I thought they were low on my trade in for the 2014 RT, but after getting an offer from a local dealer, they were within $500 of each other. That is why I decided to sell the RT outright. On the RSS, they actually offered me $1k more than I paid for the bike (granted, I got a great deal on the original purchase).
I would rather not trade in any vehicle, but they were pretty fair on the price of the RSS. If I know of someone looking a bike, I will sell individually, just to help someone out and keep them from getting hosed by a dealer.
