• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Top Case Options for the ST [Limited]

I had been riding with a Givi E370 top case on my 2013 STL but felt it didn't quite look proportional to the bike, so I bought the GIVI E470 with pearl white lid cover. BTW, the oem top case is an odd looking piece on the back of the bike as it looks too small; the E370 was an improvement over the stock offering.

To get the monolock mounting plate to fit, I had to modify the rear rack. Here, I bought a silver rack (they are the cheapest). I then cut the hump off the back of the rack (hack saw) and painted it black. You will note I cut a flat plate to cover the hole.
UPDATE: I forgot to include this, but you have to sand the cover lid towards the back to remove the slight raised sides (they are doing everything to keep the rack from being flat so you have to buy the factory top case). Paint the lid AFTER sanding it down.
NOTE: all the pieces below except small fabricated back plate come with the kit. I did not show the mounting screws/bolts/nuts and I think a brace that also come with the kit.

Then I assembled it all once the paint dryed over night. I now have a flat mounting surface and the mounting plate is nice and smooth. You can only see my cut hole if you bend over to look under the mounting plate.

Here is what it looks like with the smaller E370 Top Case. Good amount of storage, but just didn't look proportionally right.

A comparison of top cases:

Swap top cases and mount the E470 and it has the right look; BRP should use this top case. The pearl white is a tad lighter in color, but otherwise its a nice upgrade.

I will work to get the antenna relocated, but that is another little project.

Hope this helps out anyone looking for a bigger top case for the ST (might also work on the RS, but you might like the E370).

I'd love to be able to do this on my 2014 but the 2013 rear rack doesn't fit the 2014.

What I'd really like is a rack I can mount behind the passenger seat that I can attach anything from a hard case, like you did, to a soft case.

Next big trip probably won't be until Spyderfest in the Spring so I've got all winter to work on this.

Nice writeup. We have the V46 Monokey topcase on ours and it definitely looks more in proportion with the V35 sidecases.

Hi jerry, thanks for this post.
weve copied your idea and cut the hump off, very pleased.

a question if I may - I love the location of your rear indicators. Did you do this, or is this how they come with givi bags in the USA? We thought about this but had difficulty working out quite how to secure the indicators on the inside without fouling the stop light. Any clues would be welcome.

also, I loved your autumn leaves graphic until I realised it wasn't a graphic!

Those indicators are mounted to the factory luggage brackets. That's how the Limited comes from the factory.

Hi Spacetiger, mine is a ST Limited without any tail rack and would like to add the Givi TOP box.
As I can see in the pictures, there is 4 parts for the rack.
Do I need to get all the 4 parts from BRP to a rack before I can mount the Givi TOP box?

Thanks in advance...Cheers
