• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Took my Demo Ride on the 2020 RTL, my impressions

TicketBait

RT-S PE#0412

Wow, way to go BRP!

In Los Angeles today they were giving demo rides every 1½ hours.
Was initially scheduled for this Saturday, but had an opening today,
so I jumped on my 2010 RT and rode her down to the dealership.

these are my impressions formed from my current ride vs the new 2020

Signed all the release wavier forms, received walk around

from the Experienced Specialist Billy & Jeff and then

went on a beautiful ride for just over 45 minutes. Along the

coast was able to put her threw all the gears. Man is the

1330 responsive. The seat position is ideal. Even without

the back rest you feel connected to the seat, as in not going

anywhere. Love the large brake pedal. The floorboards have

my legs in a slightly different position than what I am use to.

But the change was easy to adjust. The steering feels more

agile and the front shocks adequate. Was trying to play with

the BRP connect, and was a little confused, but we stopped

once to fill up with gas and Billy showed how the RPM's can

show digitally. I love that! Was simple to just go by feel as to

when to shift up or down. Effortless that's the word I was looking for.

The layout of the controls will take a little getting use to, mainly
to where I feel comfortable toggling thru on a ride. The windshield
is now on the center console as the radio volume toggle replaced it.

On the demo ride met another couple of Spyder enthusiasts

Wally & Gail Flanagan from Venice Beach. Told them to check out Spyderlovers

Gail put 50K miles on her 2014 RT, and is now riding a 2018 RT. Her

husband came off a Harley and is now taken over her 2014 RT

Really feel from the ride this is a $30K plus machine. Solid smooth performance!

Nice write up, and glad you love it. Hope your ryde is shipped today the dealer pronto. (It is the red model, right?)

FYI: I did put the Bajaron sway bar on my 2020 after riding 300 miles on the rural roads up here. The Bajaron bar firmly planted the front tires in the turns and in windy conditions.

I'll be there tomorrow at 11:30am!

So might you be in the market for one?

That was the same time I was scheduled, but when Thursday turned

out to be a slow day I took advantage of the time slot that was available.

Wife says I can't go down again even if it's to just take pictures. She gave

me chores around the house to do:gaah::D

Take lots of pics for me!:dg2:

Yes, waiting on the Red/Marsala:yes::2excited:

Will do the same ride stock during break in and then upgrade to the BajaRon bar.

How much time does a dealership charge for that install I wonder?

I just bought a new '18 RTL and asked the dealer the same question. He said between 1.5-2 hours, "by the book". I assume that means I would get charged between $150-200 and it would take the tech about an hour to swap them out plus "breaks". :)
