• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Took a ride for the 4th and....

my F3 is 2 weeks old...

As an owner of a new F3 I have the same issues with the blueridge windshield and belt vibration. Suggest an Xcreen Tour clamp on windscreen. It is fully adjustable and will take any additional wind off your head/upper chest from the short blueridge windshield. It works great. As for belt vibration, Smooth Spyder is testing a product now to reduce/remove any excess vibration. Everyone is going to customize their spyder for them, just have to deal with those 2 issues the best you can unfortunately. Dealer will not resolve the vibration issue. Have had mine already at two of the local dealers for the vibration issue and each could only say belt was tensioned and aligned correctly. Service guy at dealer said it was inherent in the design unfortunately. Would definitely also reccommend a sway bar install and heim joint link kit. Difference in handling after they are installed is massive. Lamonster Garage products are also all very good looking and well made:f_spider:.

as far as the vibs go, no comparison with the st ltd. I can only feel it in a very narrow range, not bothersome at all.
I do agree however on the x screen, I took it over from my semi-retired Deauville ( Honda NT 650) . works great. THAT BRP HAD TO STOOP TO LETTING THE REAR MOUNTING POINTS OF THEIR SCREEN JUST 'REST' ON THE SPEEDO/TACHO ATTACHMENT BOLTS, WHICH STRIP THE MOMENT THEY SEE A TRAX WRENCH IS BEYOND ME. AT 500 EUROS A PIECE, MIND YOU. TO ADD,FOR THE FORWARD MOUNTING POINTS, M6 I BELIEVE, THE DRILLED HOLES IN THE ACRYLIC SCREEN WERE A QUARTER INCH WIDER THAN THE THREADS IN THE ALUMINUM MOUNTING PIECE,THE DEALER HAD TO DRILL A NEW HOLE! IF THAT CRACKS BETWEEN THE TWO HOLES, AM I GETTING A NEW WINDSHIELD?
IN MY VIEW ,AFTER OWNING AN ST LTD FOR 2 MONTHS AND NOW A NEW F3 I CAN ONLY SAY: BRP, YOU ARE RUINING YOUR REPUTATION IN GERMANY REAL QUICK WITH THIS KIND OF CRAFTSMANSHIP!

Regards from the ranting Kraut.

well wippie

I don't want to be disrespectful in any way. I know from past own experiences that a flaw in something you spend big money on can drive you nuts. The more I concentrated on the flaw the more it drove me crazy. It got to the point where I lost all joy I usually got out of it.
For years I have been telling my students when they complained about something to either
1. Love it
2. Change it or
3. Leave it
There are really only those three possibilities... Took me quite some time to realize that loving it is the easiest way.

What I'm trying to say: I just worry less (as Bob already pointed out)

now that I am approching 70 real quickly, I have to say I agree with you. But, a lack of craftsmanship will
always drive an engineer or good mechanic up a wall, no matter how old he/she is!
btw, where do you teach, and what field, if I may ask?

regards ,Peter

I like my F3!!!
what amazes me is that so many people evidently bought their Spyders with out test riding them. if they had tested them and felt the vibration was such a problem then why did they buy them?

I need...

I teach german, history and philosophy at a college in Nürnberg, Peter..

some of those philosophy lectures of yours.....maybe I'd become less... shall we say... direct? I will be around and in Nuernberg july 18/19 . time for a beer, maybe?

I love my F3 as well. does not mean I cant b..ch about some obvious design flaws...

I love my F3-S. I modified my Blueridge for more height. No buffeting and no cost. I may buy an F4 custom sometime in the future, but am pretty satisfied right now. If I concentrate on the bike I can feel some vibration. If I concentrate on the thrill and joy of riding the best bike I have ever owned, I don't notice it at all. I just takes a little time to adjust to the new ride.

I'd love to meet up, but that weekend I'm beer hiking in upper Franconia... 3 days - 17 breweries.
Do let me know when you are in Nürnberg again, though!

For our non-German friends :

"With more than 200 independent*brewerieswhich brew approximately 1000 different types of*beer, Upper Franconia has the worlds highest brewery-density per capita."

dont drink... dont hike? granted, Schriesheim is winecountry, but we like our beers too!

how many beers a mile? can you tell? do you have a designated fellow hiker keeping you on the straight and narrow? is there a hiker-alcohol-testing device required during the hike, like they wanted french car drivers to carry in the car? whats the procedure if you are being pulled over on the hiking trail? do rules of the road apply?

IN SHORT: HOW DRUNK CAN YOU GET?

regards, Peter

Pretty soon you end up counting in "Dog Years":
You've had seven; but count it as one!

Besides; you're not REALLY drunk if you can lie on the ground without holding on! :barf:

If the bike is costing you sleep, worry, and time... sell it!

During the day we stick to a two pints a brewery rule. As there's (almost)always a little 1-1,5 hour hike between each brewery you sober up a bit.
At night, though, at the last brewery for the day, where we stay overnight (most breweries offer rooms)... Well....😝... There would be some quite wild stories to tell...

We're a quite international little gang: 1 American (who flies over from San Diego just for the hike), 1 friend from England, 1 Dane and 4 Germans
