I took my older sister on a day ride down the BRP (Blue Ridge Parkway) today. We met in Durham and then took 421 to Boone. There I checked in on my daughter who was taking care of a cold. We hopped on the BRP and traveled down to Little Switzerland and then did the Diamondback and traveled down to Marion before heading home. A total of 507 miles. The leaves were especially pretty around the Viaducts, just outside of Grandfathers mountain. As you can tell from my sister, it was quite chilly. We arrived in Boone just before the App. State game, and it was 40 degrees.
