Too fast blinking after install of trailer light kit

I have a 2013 RT-S, and just installed a trailer lighting kit. After the install I noticed that signal lights start with normal blink then transition to a faster flashing.
Has anyone ran across this before, if so how did you address it?

Is there a way to put the bike in a mode to determine the load and adjust the blinking rate?

.....and this definitely works as I have just done it! Exactly the same symptoms as you, except mine was after wiring in a set of LED mirror blinkers. Starts out with two normal blinks, then speeds up.

Did you install an isolator module in the circuit to the trailer lights, or are the trailer lights powered directly by the bike rear light circuits? If you used an isolator, and you definitely should, it shouldn't draw enough current from the bike light circuits to cause hyper flashing. At least it did not with the 2013 RT I had. If the trailer lights are drawing their power directly from the bike light circuits then that will cause hyper flashing. On the 2013 RT I don't think there is anything you can do about it, except use an isolator.

Rapid flashing continues

It appears that the suggested solution does not work on 2013's.

I do have an isolated box installed, getting power directly from the battery terminals.

Anyone else out there with their ears on has a cure for this issue?

Thanks for all of the responses so far.

In that case search the forum for 'load resistor'. There have been several discussions in the past about adding lights to the turn signals causing hyperflash. Load resistors is about the only way to correct the problem. I'm guessing for some reason your isolator is adding a greater load to the turn signal circuits than is usual. I think you're the first one to report such a problem. The BRP module/isolator, which is a Hopkins unit, doesn't cause any problems that have been reported. You may need to use a different isolator. Which brand & model did you use?

His trailer harness is from Big Bike Parts, part 41-162. Like the BRP unit it draws its power directly from the battery, and just uses the bike connections to throw the relays.
