There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To wear a helmet or not

Here in Holland, we can drive a Spyder without a helmet provided you are buckled up.
I would agree it is a strange rule but riding without feels absolutely great:clap:
Assume in New Hampshire one can drive without a helmet anyway.
Perhaps together we can prepare an overview in which states/countries one can drive without a helmet (including if a safety belt is mandatory in that case).
So as far as i am aware in Europe:
Holland - No Helmet but safety belt
Germany - No Helmet but safety belt
Belgium - Always helmet

Look forward to have this list completed;)

Question does not matter to me since I believe ATHATT. However to each his/her own on that one.
The thought of using a seat belt on anything my body sticks up way over the height of the vehicle parts, scares the heck out of me. the feds here in the states wanted to do that for for all motorcycles a few years ago.

You have come up with a subject that always gets a lot of attention, as well as some heated opinions.

Laws in the US vary, depending on which state you live in.

I have lived in states where helmets are required and in states where they are not. For me, it is a personal choice, and I choose to wear a helmet. We do not have the choice when and where an accident will happen. Those who choose to wear a helmet generally come out of the accident with better results than those that do not.

I am a proponent of ATGATT. All the gear all the time.

RE: Seatbelts--I don't see a lot of advantage for them to be on motorcycles.

Yeah, law or no law ... what's your brain worth.

two or three wheels, if someone T-bones you, you'll be thankful you had the gear on.

I usually wear a helmet . . . around town at no more than 30 mph, I often just wear a hat. Kansas doesn't require helmets.

I've never hear of belts on motorcycles. I think I'd rather use a helmet.

I agree the feeling of not wearing a helmet is very nice. I wear one all the time regardless of where I am. :dontknow: I do sometimes slack on my riding pants, so am ATGMOTT

Do not exactly know where ATHATT or ATGATT stands for but assume something like "always where protective stuff like a helmet".
Now I agree that wearing a belt makes no sense at all but that is the ridiculous law out here. Is valid for all trikes.
Coming from a motorbike where the risks are much bigger, I probably am over optimistic over chances on accidents.
Hitting flies and other insects is also not always very nice, depending on the speed.
I will it second thoughts but it feels great;)

Law or no law

I put seat belts in my cars in the 50's and used them. I began wearing M/C helmets in the early 60's. Those heavy fiberglass automobile helmets. Having said this, I still think it should be our choice.

:agree: I don't think that you can effectively legislate, "Common Sense".
But you won't see me on one; without a bucket!

Safety belt on a motorcycle? Huh? Can you explain this?

My thoughts exactly. That would be a quick way to die in a motorcycle crash - even a crash where you might have come out with cuts and bruises and maybe a broken bone were you NOT buckled to the motorcycle/Spyder.

Oh ya. Seatbelts on a trike makes as much sense as teets on a bull.:shemademe_smilie: Last thing I would want in an accident is to be tied to the bike. Go for the helmet, it will do more good.

Helmet or Not

Ok..I'm guilty of not wearing a helmet in the heat of summer EXCEPT if I am going on a long trip. Before anyone can tell me, I know most accidents happen within 10 miles of your home.

Wear no helmet?

And hopefully wake up, strapped to a gurney.

So now, check your feet, for a toe tag, with your name on it.

Three strikes, Eh?
Hahaha Too late.
