• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

To wave or not to wave, that is the question

No distinctions

I wave at everyone that's ryding/riding...I care not their response. It is about what I want to do...

Both the missus & me are 60+.I remember the two wheel raised fist salute of around 1972, when I was riding a BSA 650 Lightning. Fast as all get out. In those days, I was single and rode like the young whippersnappers that I see now. When they get to be our age, they will:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown: to be on a :ani29:. Saw one in NYC about 3 weeks ago around 7:30 pm at about 86th & West End Ave. Looked like an RS. The arachnids are now invading the cities!!
I do not remember the raised fist (but then, I can not remember much way back then). I do remember MY BSA Gold Star, DBD34. Big fight back then, why would anybody pay $300 more for a B-34 (1959 price $1090.00 then a then a B-33. Couple speed runs and they found out. B-33 blew up, both were big 500 cc bikes
Back to waving, why not to all

 For over 40 years, I have given a 'normal' bikers wave to all bikes whenever I can. I've also been known to give another SpYder rYder a 'high 5' :dg2:instead as a special sharing of our mutual interests. But I have really noticed that more of the 2-wheel bikers are waving back as we become more accepted by them, especially Harley riders.

Oh yeah! Because we all know that donning a do-rag automatically makes you the spawn of Satan. Should probably be punishable by death. Because you can always tell everything about a person by their clothing. Right on bro.......:banghead:
But there is this variation. A guy told me one time, "I can look at your shoes and tell you exactly what your car looks like!" I think he nailed it!

The Spyder version of that would be, "I can look at your shoes and tell you exactly what your Spyder looks like!" Sadly, in my case that is way too true! :(

I Wave to most everyone not in a cage of some sort - but do wave to all antique vehicles, most small convertibles and cars with a military sticker that I see soon enough. I've ridden/ had scooters since the late 50s. They are super. On my third Honda Helix 250 now, along with a 1983 Honda VF750 Magna and RT Spyder. By all means wave to the Law Enforcement riders - don't panic if they turn around and pull you over. They want to know about the Spyder. I've let 3 ride my Spyder in a nearby parking lot or road. They all seemed to enjoy being treated like normal people rather than an adversary. I will admit I did not wave to the nice Motor Policeman with the radar gun a couple months ago, but I did nod and so did he.

I wave at anyone on 2 or 3 wheels.
Except for mopeds with kids on them, I'm afraid to be responsible for them crashing if they wave back.
