When one drills, cuts parts off or otherwise modifies their Spyder to add on an after market item, the changes are forever. So are the incorrect holes that are easily drilled and the split or cracked tupperware due to vibration. We at Seal Floorboards are totally against such irreversible changes. once they are done there is no "take back". whether it's drilling a hole in your Tupperware or grinding a part off, we want no part of it. Whether it's a set of Seal Floorboards or a Rear Trunk Tote Rack, you will never be asked to permanently modify your beautiful Spyder. With creative design work any product will be simpler and easier to install without modifications When it's time to trade in, you can give the next owner a Spyder in original condition. THAT'S MY OPINION!

Hi John,

I have a 2012 RT and I just got done mounting the long boards on. The only thing I had a problem with was the brake pedal spacer. I could not get the bolts to go through the holes straight enough to catch the threads on the pedal pad. It seems that the holes were drilled a little too far out and the bolts were cocking just a tad making it impossible for lining them up. I had to grind a 1/8 notch out of the wide end of the block so it would move in and over the lever. Not a big deal... just not expected.

Love the boards... but now I need a learning curve with foot placement so I can find the brake pedal in an emergency without having to think about it.

I thought hard about drilling holes in the Tupperware to add the Wolo trumpet air horns to my 2013, but had no other option to get the horn sound I wanted. They, of course, stayed with the Spyder when I sold it. They looked a lot better than plugs or patches would have, and less costly than replacing the pieces. I liked them so much I did the same install on my 2014. If I want to keep the Rivco trunk rack I have on my 2014 RTS I'll have to put a new cover on the trunk lid. That's the choice I made to get the functionality of the rack.

You are right. Permanent mods to the original Spyder hardware are not the way to go if the same end result can be achieved without the mods.

I always like to make changes that are reversible without too much drama. Things like cutting the stock bars for risers are not for me. OTOH what do you do with a basement full of stock seats, exhaust cans, etc?
