• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tire Change

Does anyone know of a tire dealer that will change the rear tire other than the Spyder Dealer? I'm talking taking it off the :spyder2:, installing a new tire and
remounting it on the :spyder2:.

I took mine down the street to a local tire shop, he took my rear tire off, mounted my new one, charged me $4.00 and sent me on my way. And I was not a regular customer of his. Getting close to doing it again soon, since I have close to 20,000 miles on this one. (Kohmo)
I did remove the wheel from the Spyder myself though.

I take the wheel off thanks to the helpful videos online, and gives me a chance to look at the brake pads while its off. I order a tire from Discount Tire and then have them put it on. If I am pulling the bearings, they balance it, otherwise I just static balance on a Harbor Freight stand. The last 3 have been Kumho Ecstas with another in the garage for this summer when wear and time tell me to stop ridin and get new "shoes". Good Price; good service, and I get to check things out and learn a little more about the bike!

The problem with just having a tire place remove your tire (if they would even attempt it) is them understanding the technical aspects of doing so like the belt adjusters, brake caliper, etc. These are not things tire places even understand because eon cars they just remove lug nuts!

I emailed the link to the video showing the tire replacement process that doesn't effect belt tension to a custom trike builder who is only a few miles from my home. He watched the video, and did my replacement, to include balancing, in about 45 minutes . . . piece of cake. He is also the guy who does my state inspections, because the only dealer in WV that is near me doesn't do inspections . . . nor do they touch my Spyder after an issue I had with them.

That's cool! Was it my video they used or some other one? Just curious.
