Just wondering if anyone on here has had a front or rear tire blow out on them and how hard was it to control

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

There was a recent incident where the front tire blew and they bounced off the "NJ barricade" throwing them off and being hurt..
I'm thinking that it would depend on the speed at the time of the blowout and how big the hole and air leaving the tire. With the rear tire, you would have more control. Either way not a good thing.
I hit a piece of concrete in my car doing 85, right front, destroyed the rim and cut the tire wide open. It took all of the energy that I had to keep it from going too far to the right and flipping and while I didn't jam on the brakes it took over 1000 ft. to get it stopped. That was 16 years ago and I still remember it well.

Tire blow outs
6 months after I had my Spyder I had a Blowout on the left front, I was about 3 miles from the house running 70 , hit a pothole that seemed as big as a 55 gallon drum, tire went in the hole completely , as it came out the hole was Jagged , and cut the tire, I was able to hold the bike, if it had been a 2 wheeler , I don't think i'd be typing this, anyway got stopped and rode bike back to the house , rim was not hurt , me neither!!!! had to buy new pair of pants though LOL The Spyder Saved me , and God is not thru with me is why I'm still here today!!!!

Rare happening--but it could. I am thinking that the nanny would also kick in.
Situational awareness also kicks in here. A pothole or curb smash at high speeds, can usually be avoided if the :spyder2: is under control.

I have asked previously about SAL also. *sudden air loss.
I too have swallowed a huge honkin' pothole that would have broke or bent a lesser machine.
I sense that most of us follow a pretty strict routine for tire maintenance . For FEW of us is
this the first rodeo, and that can really make a difference.

I hit s big chunk of metal that took out my rear tire at low speed, it was very difficult to steer.
Know Pitbull was able to help:thumbup: I know she talked about it at spyderfest

Good one...!!
Have seen tales from both sides as to how easy or difficult it was to handle. For those due to puncture it seemed the roadster handled well. For those due to potholes, curbs or road debris things were a bit tougher. A lot of it has to do with the blow to the steering. But all were thankful they were on a spyder...:thumbup:
