There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We talking wind or helmet. Easier to get tinted helmet shields but on the wind shield being some type of plastic I don'the know. Could check those films and if they can be applied theyou plastic. I just wear sunglasses...:roflblack: never had a windshield I could look thru...

If you are talking about a windshield ....... I think you could use the same stuff that they use for cars and this might be removable if you don't like it...... but consider this ..... At night I think it's going to cause a problem, and if it does you might hit a STUPID pedestrian , because some think they are in some kind of protective shield and can't be killed :banghead::banghead: ...... To find out if you like it drive at night with SUN Glasses on first ........ But be very careful .........Mike :thumbup:

I cut my stock windshield down by 7" and wanted a tinted shield. I tried the film tint first, and yes, with the curve in the shield, it was nearly impossible for a newbie like me. Next I tried the spray on tint. First I tried it on a plastic water bottle for a trial run. It worked great. After cleaning the windshield, I did a coat on it. It was terrible. I decided to do a couple of layers, and after a while, it looked great, but it was too dark to see through. Since the shield was shortened, it was fine in the low position. But when I would raise it for interstate driving, I could see over it, but now very clear on the things right in front, and close up to the spyder. Eventually I took it off and replaced it with a +4 wide, -4 high, vented shield. Here is a picture of the cut/tinted shield. And another of the one that I use now.

I think that would depend on the darkness of the tint, and height of the windshield. For the one that I tinted myself, you would be looking over it, so it was not a problem. For the tinted/Vented one that I have, it is a very light tint, and you can easily see through it.
Where did you end up finding the wrap to tint your windshield? Do we have any service vendors on this site? I did like the one on this one:http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...-with-a-Lamonster-Garage-twist&highlight=tint

The one in the first photo is spray on tint that I picked up from Advanced Auto. The second one was purchased tinted from the start. I got this one off ebay, but I think it is also sold by F4.

The stuff that I used came from Advanced Auto and was called VHT Nite-Shades by Specialty Products. I must warn you that it had to be sprayed on in layers (about 3-4) because the finish was not that great on the first coat. After a while, it looked great, but you cannot see through it at all after the 3-4 coats. I did this on the rear side. Only attempt this if you don't need to look through it at all.
I am curious now...the second image is that with 3 coats and the first is 6 coats? What do you use clean the windshield? Did you use thinner or dish washing soap before you sprayed? I saw Lamonster but he did a perforated wrap...which was really nice. But, I'll spray it; since it is cheaper.

Those are actually 2 different windshields. The lightly tinted one with the vent is a factory tinted shield. The darker one (almost black), is the stock shield that I cut down by 7" and applied 4-5 coats of spray on tint. There is no way to see through it at all. With a high intensity flashlight shining on the back side, you can barely see any light going through it. As for cleaning, I just use typical glass cleaner on the exterior, since the inside is where the tint is sprayed.

Thanks, but I prefer to look over it. Plus, I am not willing to pay extra cash for another windshield. I made contact with my local law enforcement regarding tinting windshield. I was told that I am not allowed to tint a windshield; however, I am able to tint the "wind deflector".
