• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tink's first ride

Excellent Point Randy!

Moxi is working to become a service dog, you can get a service dog in training jacket if you are working in that direction and receive some love from people, and if she is well behaved, you can actually just take animals in many places without there being an issue.

Depending on the location, they should be required to have a sign that states no pets on the establishment (assuming it is not governed by the Health Department), Also you would be astonished at the locations that are pet friendly! Also most restaurants allow for dogs to join you on the patio / deck outside if they have one. Pending the city / town / level of comfort with the owners, you can do much more with animals these days than you could prior to now.

Also, never hurts in this instance to plan your trips until you are good with the situation or your 3-up has had the chance to complete service training or a CCGC status.

What is a" service dog"? :dontknow: How do we get around that hurdle?
I'll swear that she is trained to monitor and sense my blood glucose levels for lows...! :roflblack:
We've actually had no trouble taking her in stores so far... Just keep her in the sack and all has been good...

Becoming a service dog is about getting with an organization and getting her trained, it is very rewarding!

Certified Canine Good Citizenship is a great step forward, as its test is the same (at least in the south) as the testing for therapy dogs. Which can be from volunteering to go to nursing homes to volunteering in schools to have Tink present for kids to read too. Look into it, its a great way to give back.

If I can ever learn to post pics the dogs are riding behind me in a St Patrick parade on Saturday. We made a special carrier that will hold both of them. Should be so much fun. Signing the yorkie up for good citizenship in the next few days

Well we snuck out early this morning for a bit over a 50 mile ryde... The weather was gorgeous and Tink was alert, but not frantic at all. She spent a lot of her time turning around in her "sack" so she could see "the other side of the road". The Missus had no trouble hanging on to her, and she even ducked down in the sack and took a 10 minute nap! :ohyea::2thumbs:
We'll "doggle her up" this next Sunday when we get her down to Petco for a trip through the shears...

Hey Bob, we got our Lower Deflectors that you sent us, so how bout we send you

a pair of doggles for Tink? Petco & PetsMart both offer a very limited selection of doggles, but beats nothing at all. Our local shops only offered sm. md. lg. & extra-lg & only in a tannish color, no other options :( We have a local dog shop where I live in Mainstrasse Villiage called StrasseDog & Teddy is a regular there. The owners are a great couple of Ladies & when we first got our Spyder & started Teddy ryde'n, she told me to stop by in a couple of weeks & that they'd have a large assortment of doggles, especially for a Spyder Ryde'n Pooch like The Tedster. Sure enough, she has ALL sizes & many different colors & designs. Since Teddy is almost solid black, we wanted something that would show up well & offer a good contrast. We now have about 5 different pairs for the lil guy. Teddy is 3 years old now & all full grown at 10 pounds, & he still wears an xtra-small in doggle size, so I would think Tink would be about the same. I haven't been to StrasseDog in a while since surgery, but Wednesday is my first follow-up appointment & you better believe, Teddy & I are gonna ryde. Once we get done with my dr's apt. we'll make a stop at StrasseDog & we'll pick up a pair for Tink. Any special requests or colors that you'd prefer? Last time we were in, the owner, Shirley had Teddy's red doggles wait'n for us, but also had a surprise. They are a black pair, with FLAMES on the sides & I think they would look great on Tink. On Teddy, since he's all black, they just blend in and kinda get lost, but see'n as Tink is more Bronze in color, I think they'd show up great. Let me know your thoughts. Also, if anyone else out there wants me to pick them up a pair, just send me a PM with your contact info & we'll get them taken care of for ya

Dave,
Black with flames in extra-small?? :2thumbs:

You gotta let me pay you for them though...
Tink's waggin' her tail in anticipation!

Bob,

In case you find Tink getting a little ansy during a ride or when a storm is approaching, check this out. We have one for our dog. We purchased it b/c should knew when bad weather was approaching and sometimes due to the weather she would go spastic. It did help her.

I also mentioned in another thread a cooling vest for dogs.

https://www.cocojor.com/wshop/cgi-b...91.48.99&act=&aff=&pg=cat&ref=Cooling&catstr=

Of course, we also carry water and a bowl for the dog.

Since these cooling vests aren't cheap, maybe someone will post here, like they did in another thread I started, and tell you that you can get a bag for free at crackhead barrel and wet your dog down that way; or, they may say to just put the dog under a faucet.

Its a "Lixit" Thirsty Dog watering thermos.
:thumbup:We don't leave home without it
Plyable outter bowl that you just bend out & it makes into its own bowl, open the spigot, & sqeeze out water for Tink to drink.
When she's finished, just dump the left over water from the bowl to the ground, then bend the bowl back down & it conforms back around the thermos. Its permantly attached, so you can't forget the bowl, like I have done with many other options we've tried.

Also, since the water doesn't go back into the thermos, you can use it for yourself, by just unscrewing the top-lid & drinking straight from the thermos,
:roflblack:that is if you find that your baby bottle with nipple & Cpt.Morgan are all gone:roflblack:

Remember,
its very easy for your dog to get Over-Heated & dehydrated while out Spyder Ryde'n, especially with the HOT sun & the constant wind and always wearing a fur coat.
