• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Tink's first ride

Well she did it; but she didn't quite dig it... :opps:
She didn't squirm around at all, bu t she preferred standing in the "Outward Hound" as oposed to sitting down in it.
We kept the ride short (5 miles) so as not to overwhelm her right out of the box.
So... future rides will be easier!

You may want to invest in some doggles, if you haven't already. Believe me, it would be easy to get something in your pooch's eye.

Agree. It may take a few rides for her to get used to them but both mine will wear them.....at least as long as we are moving

Looks like you folks had some fun. Good advice above--get the doggles and increase the miles by about 2-5 each ride. In no time--it will become natural to all of you. :2thumbs:

DOGS LOVE TRUCKS

Hey Bob that's progress....my bulldog loves to ride in the Cobra....but at 65 lbs. I haven't figured out how to do the spyder thing yet......I'll figure out something I really love my riding buddy....:agree:.........Mike

My wife takes her chihuahua with her on rides. He has a screened carrier that she staps on her Goldwing. He wears his doggles also along with his denim vest.

WHOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!! So good to see Tink get'n her SpYder Legs

If Tink is anything like Teddy (EXTREMELY food Motivated) you may also want to "reward" her with her favorite "treat" when you first start training her to wear her doggles. I know for Teddy, he absolutely HATES wearing his doggles, but with using treats, I was able to get him trained well enough that he knows he has to wear them when he's on the SpYder AND its moving, and he's allowed to take them off as soon as we stopped, & for the most part, it works pretty well. He has learned that their are two ways for him to take them off. One is by using his paws and pulling them down and letting them rest hanging around his neck. The second way is really cute to see. He'll start rubbing his head either against the Utopia BackRest or his carrier and he'll eventually get the doggles pushed up to rest on top of his head, kinda just like us "humans" do with our sun glasses:rolleyes:IMG_20120311_134333.jpgIMG_20120117_143833.jpgIMG_20111023_134908.jpgIMG_20111023_134940.jpgDroidPix-10-2010 991.jpg

"Doggles" it is then... I wasn't sure with her tiny little head if they made them in "mouse" sizes.. :roflblack:
Where would you suggest that we look for them?

I just googled doggles and the first thing that came up was Petco. I saw a guy over the weekend with a Chihuahua that stood in his carrier also it didn't look comfortable to me but what do I know. I wouldn't worry about that too much Tink will get comfy when she's ready.

Try saying that one three times fast...
:roflblack:
I actually did the same thing and also found Petco. We'll have to take her to one of the stores to see if the extra-small is truly small enough...

Extra Small is pretty darn Little, Moxi rolls with hers on (Moxi is a Yorkshirre Terrier and is full grown at 4 lbs), she Rides in a Kuriyakan Pet Palace and harnessed in with an Easy Rider like Dave shows in one of his videos, she digs it. On colder days she rocks a pink fur coat. I thought people talked to me a lot about the spyder before, but with Moxi on it, there is a redonkulous amount of attention pending.

Speaking of clothing, our dog has more closet space than I do. She also has x-small pink sunglasses in addition to the doggles you see in the avatar.

That sounds about right; Tink is four pounds of "over-personalitied" Pomeranian... We'll try them out!

We just took our new German Shepherd to his first obedience class tonight at Petsmart and I couldn't get over the aisles of dog clothes that they have. Of course none of them fit him! The State Dog of Nevada must be the Chihuahua because everyone has at least one of them and they all seem to wear little outfits.

By the way, Max was the smartest dog in class and will surely graduate with highest honors!

Thanks!
The Missus is already planning on getting her stuffed in the sack for another short run this weekend. We've got to get her some Doggles pretty quick!

What are you going to do with the dog if you get hungry or want to shop ??? Teddy is a service dog so resturants and stores can't mess with him, but how do other dog owners enjoy stopping places with a dog in tow ???
