There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Tight riser hardware big shoulders

We have had a few reports of the bottom bolts on the risers fitting a bit tight into the relief cut into the bottom half moon clamps.

It seems the hardward we had from the supplier for the prototype unit had smaller shoulder OD then what they sent us for the production units.

This condition will not affect the riser except make it a bit tight to screw in the bottom bolts into the riser the first time. This is because the aluminum rubs on the shoulder of the allen bolts during this first install.

After this first run in however the shoulder and the hole will have "mated" to each other and will cause no problems going forward.

Any customer who has a problem with their riser bolts and and wishes to have us turn the hardware down for them please contact us.

However, the hardware can be slightly sannded down around the shoulder to accomplish this with ether sand paper or a belt sander if available. As the hardware is 100% stainless steel this procedure will not effect it's performance or weather proof finish. We are talking about a few thousands of an inch here as that is all it takes to make the friction make the bolt feel tighter than normal to turn.

If the hardware is installed all the way one time in to the half moon this too will work as it will then make the hole in the half moon the size needed for it to fit.

We have checked and the length of hardware again to be sure it is not too long and will thread into the riser more than enough to close the half moon all the way tight. This length is correct. So, any tightness felt in this bolt will be because of the tight shoulder to hole clearance and not because of bottoming of the bolt in the hole.

We are sorry for any inconvenance this switch the hardware supplier's OD in their bolt has caused to any of you who may have the larger OD bolt shoulder in your kits.

Also if you should have tight hardware please rechreck the bolt torque once the bolts are fully seated and freed up.

We have contacted the hardware company and found the solution as to why the hardware is such a tight fit into the lower riser caps.

Seems Allen head bolts come in two styles. One has a smooth shoulder and one has ridges on the shoulder to help you grip it to start it in the hole.

The measurements we took for the sample Allen bolts were of the smooth shoulder design. The supplier thinking it was helping sent us the ridged design. It is the few thousandths of an inch larger diameter that this design has that is what makes it fit so snug into the lower half moon clamp.

The ridges on the shoulder area can be removed very easily with a sander without compromising the bolt strength or weatherproof design as it is 100% stainless steel.

Future risers will have this area opened up to allow for ether style bolt to be used so it will not be a problem to use ether style hardware in the future.

We have found a very easy way to remove the ridges on the allen bolts head. One is to put the allen bolt in a drill and spin the head against some sand paper until the ridges are gone, or to do the same thing against a belt sander.

Althought the belt sander is faster, both work well and really take no time at all to do as the stainless sands well.
