• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

TIE DOWN POINTS WHEN TRAILERING

We're going to trailer our Spyder RT Se5 to property in a couple weeks. Where do you recommend to tie down the front. Around and thru tires or between the tires and the frame? Manuel looks like suggests below the shocks and over the shroud(sp)???:dontknow:

When i towed my GS i straped [ratchet type] it down though the front wheels and though the rear wheel, ''Careful'' not to put the strap though the rear sprocket.

Tie downs

Same here. I take my :spyder2: south with me for the winter on a trailer. Use straps through the front wheels and also the back wheel. I also use wheel chocks just in case. Never had a problem or issue. Again on the rear through the wheel not wheel and belt sprocket.

The pictures in the manual showing the strap around the lower control arm is for winching the Spyder onto a flatbed truck or trailer, not tie down points. Put the straps through the rims, but make sure you put towels between the straps and the rims or you will risk damage to the paint.

Front cris-cross tie down

We also tie down thru the wheels, however we "X" the front tie downs to a point forward of the wheels. This "X'ing" keeps the wheels pointing straight forward and prevents the flip flopping of the front wheels during travel. My friend also uses a spring line to keep the Spyders from lurching forward during a emergency or panic stop. We trailer ours one in front of the other in a long trailer, never had any problems.

trailer tie points

When we haul our :spyder2: The trailer tie down point for the front tires is about even with the back tire, and the back tire tie down point is up close to the Front tires, this way you can get a good pull on the :spyder2: to keep it from moving at all. If you just straight or close to straight across the :spyder2: could slide side to side. This will make your trailer look like it is twice as long.
