There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Hey Gang

Just wanted to let everyone know about our May Ryde for Gulf Coast SpyderRyders.

Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally is the location.

Plan is to meet Sabunim5 at the YMCA in Navarre for an 11:15 AM departure.

The directions are from the Walmart on Navy Blvd in Pensacola. We can plan on meeting there about 10:00 AM with kickstands up no later than 10:30 AM.

Look forward to seeing everyone there. It should be a great time. Lots of vendors and good food.

Doesn't look like this ryde is going to happen.

I know that Capt John can't make it.

Kalavera and Littlebit want to leave earlier than the posted ryde time.

No one else has been responding to the thread.

Maybe we should try for a ryde later in the month to just have lunch.

If the faithful four are still in so am I. If not, lets do something else later in the month that more people can/want to go to. Right now I'm not aware of any events that we might enjoy but I really haven't paid much attention as I figured we were headed to Panama City. :chat: If anyone knows of something or somewhere that might be of interest to the Spyder ryders in our area please chime in.

I live in Panama City Beach and was hoping to see more Spyder Ryders. I did see one but, he was heading in the opposite direction on Thomas Dr. We did give each other the thumbs up and soon after that, my steering locked up. After freeing it, I got it home where it sat for the rest of the weekend.:gaah:
Perhaps next spring during Biker week, we can get together. I sometimes feel like an outcast in my hometown, with all the HD riders that come to these rally's.;)

Howdy Do Lilly,

I see you really get around on your Spyder, that's great! It's hard to get me off the beach but, I did meet young couple that has a spyder who live here in the area. Being young they can only ride weekends w/work. They take turns driving it to work and I know, I'm bummed out when its raining and I gotta take the truck, so sharing a spyder has to be hard.

I haven't been to Dusty's yet, there are so many good places to eat here year round, even with a lot closing during the off season. Its hard to choose, where to eat. I've seen the place and know its out on the west end of the beach. I travel down old 98 west, along the shoreline a lot. For me its relaxing being out in the air and seeing the Gulf as I ride.

The Sat night after my :cus: DPS locked up in the late afternoon, during Thunder Weekend.:yikes: A bunch of us went to a biker friends condo on the beach and than to Capt. Jack's. They have a buffet, all you can eat for $9.99 and we all filled up on the crab legs.

Wed. I was over near the Spyder dealer and decided to go check out the new RT-S. What a machine that is. For around here it would be to much for me but, for someone who loves touring, it would be great for them.

I didn't take it for a ride, I knew it would have been a disaster and I would end up bringing one home, when they get the production models in in Feb. The day I went to just look at the spyder's, the next thing I knew I was signing the papers. I can't just look, I buy. So walking away from this RT-S was good for me.

The last bike I owned was a 1965 BSA Lightening Rocket. I sold that in 1977 and I was never able to get the experience totally out of my blood. My first was a 1948 BSA, that I found at a barn sale in CT. I was 15 and gave the farmer $30 bucks for it. I had to keep it at a friends house cause I knew my parents would kill me. So after 32 years out of motorcycles, I feel like that 15 year old kid again and having a blast with this spyder.

That fearless 15 year old kid, turned into this BDOBB ( Broken Down Old Beach Bum) and I know I lost a lot of confidence in going far from home. It will take sometime to get it back and being out most days riding now, is helping.

I tend to stay off the highway and prefer the back roads. I was always like that and with friends in CT, we always preferred the old back roads, to the highways.

In a way I'm still testing this new DPS and everytime I have Tami on the back, I hear in my right ear TE (nickname) the speed limit is 35 and your going close to 50. I told her if I was doing 35, those rented 50cc scooter's would be passing me and I won't have that!:D

Lilly, hopefully we will get to meet up someday. Shoot me an email or a PM, if your going to be in the area.:2thumbs:

I plan on being at the rally, wish I could commit now to ride with y'all now but have some other friends (non-spyder ryders) invovled. We haven't set our game plan yet. Hope to see y'all there.

I've already made my reservations. Will be arriving at the campground with my Toyhauler, with the Spyder and my Boss Hoss Trike loaded in the rear, on Wed 4-28, leaving Sun 5-2

I need to check this site more often! I don't know if I can make the ride. AMA Barbers has been moved to Sept. so that frees me up some. I might come down a look around some, and then come back to Milton. But 11 AM is pretty late to get a start IF I am going to do that. Keep me in the loop.
