• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Throttle cable slack

Little help..!!

Not seeing what model your talking about. Some have dual cable push pull some have fly by wire systems. Year and model will help. Don't want to steer you wrong or confuse you...

So simple to do, so hard to explain. If I can figure out how to attach a file, I'll scan the page out of the shop manual and post it here. If I can't get that figured out, y'all are on your own.

If not send me the page #, I will do it.

Here's what you do..!!

Remember you need some play in the throttle at all times, do not snug it up tight. Now loosen the lock nuts on both cables (the small nut) . The forward cable is the pull cable and the rear is the push/return cable. Loosen the push cable (twist the large nut in clockwise)a bit. Now tighten the pull cable (counterclockwise on the large nut) till the slack is picked up. Feel the play by lightly twisting the throttle (don't go wide open or snap it yet) when at the point desired snug the lock nut on the pull cable. Now go to the push cable and snug it up twisting the large nut counterclockwise till snug the back off slightly. Snug up the locknut on the push cable and test the throttle snaping it several times. Now start the engine and test again and if all is good tighten the locknuts and ryde on...

Thank you chupaca. I scanned the pages from the shop manual, but I have no idea how to add the scans to this message.

Doesn't matter. File is too large, anyway. Maybe I'll have to play around with this for a bit.

Tried what you said. Loosened the push cable then counter clocked the pull but had to go all the way back. And the slack was not gone, then tried the push counter but it only got loser. Then turned it to the clockwise and it got less play. So what am I doing wrong?
