Is this throttle body problem only inherent to the RT's or does it affect the RS's as well? Sorry if this has been addressed in another post i couldn't find any reference. This is really clouding my decision on whether I want to go with the RT or the RS.

Well I thought the opposite. I thought it was the 2011 rt. Because of the diffrent software that kept the bodies open or closed longer after turning off. Never heard of too many 2010 rt. Anyone else want to chime in please do

After all; the GS/RS models can tend to burn up their exhaust gaskets..I would not let the TB issue decide which bike you choose.
I had an issue with the throttle body with my 2011 RT. I took it back to the dealer 4 times but never got it resolved. It was also not diagnosed as a throttle body issue only a software issue. When i was at the Owners event a couple of weeks ago, I had the same problem and took it to the service tent. The techs knew right away what the issue was and tore the bike down and replaced the bad unit....at no cost! the company even called me last week to check on the repair! I can't say enough good about the company. They were awesome!
They told me this only happens on rare occasions.

SC92.....you may have hit on the problem causing some TB's to go bad: "gummed up bushings". Couldn't this well have been caused by gas? Perhaps the various software changes BRP have made which affect the opening/closing of the throttle (plate?) were a result of this and hopefully have now fixed the issue.
Perhaps a dose of carb/injector cleaner in the gas tank every now and then would be useful. This is all a WAG on my part as I'm not much of a mechanic.
