• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Throttle-Bodies

Throttle Bodies

I have a 2010 Blue RT SM5 and had the TB replaced at Spyderfest 2012 had trouble with it on the way down to :spyder2:fest. Had BRP guys fixed my toy and it works great,THANKS TO BRP. I now have 26,000 miles on it and :spyder2: runs great.

Just curious how many RT owners have had issues with the throttlebodies, and how many are having them with the SE5, I ride a SM5 It seems only the SE5 ryders in my area are having the issue. Just curious.

2011 rts se5 tb went out at about 2k mi had replaced runs better then ever now have 8k no problems. hope all new updates keep the tb ghosts away..

Hey All !!

2011 SE5, 4000 miles, throttle body has been changed out twice.
Fortunately they were able to re-create it and got codes.
My symptoms were, when up-shifting (any gear), it would bog down like motor was trying to shut down, then it would catch and take off.
Sucked on highway going from 4th to 5th.
They think first replacement throttle body may have been defective (because I had same issues) so a BRP rep authorized installation of another one.
I hope no more issues !!!

Other than that, I LOVE THIS BIKE !!!!! :2thumbs:

:agree: From what I was told; the throttle position sensor on the throttle bodies has to agree with what it's being told by the electronic signal from the twist grip that tells it where it has to be...
If they're not in sync... look out! :gaah:

TB RTSSE5

I have a 2011 RT SSE5 has been in the shop once for TB issue they replaced they replaced the spring said it wasn't closing properly.
Now it's doing the same thing again.
It would be great if we could get a copy of the Sb so we could read for ourselves what BRP is saying.
Guess I'll call a wrecker today and have it towed to the shop. This really ticks me off. Hate having to be towed in very embarassing.

Just bought a new 2012 Red RT-S last weekend. Illinois Boy you won't be the only Red RT in town anymore!

Dealer told me that with the new software and torque limits on the TB motor I should not see this problem. This TB issue was a big concern for me before the purchase.
Your dealer may be correct.I looked there is not one 2012 reporting a problem on this entire thread. They are all 2010 and 2011.

So it is a timing signal issue. Wonder if the RS setup will work on the RT.. I don't have a problem with cables running along the bars.
