• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thoughts on switching from SM to SE.

For me I love the manual but I have a RSS and love banging the gears BUT if your buying a touring model and your going to use it for that I don't think I'd have anything but the SE
just seems more fitting . Good luck with your decision.

SM -SE

When my wife and I went to test ride our '08, the first ride was on a SM. For a couple of reasons I did not like it, but the deal breaker was my wife's hands just had a hard time on the clutch lever. Yes, I know it is adjustable. Back at the dealer, she had no issues with the full size Kaw. touring bike clutch. We then test rode the SE --- DONE DEAL! You will love the SE the first time you hit stop/go traffic.

YMMV

I love it . No clutching with left hand wich has some nerve damage to it.
When in stop and go traffic ,no need to feather clutch, Shifting is buttery smooth and can run through the gears faster to get up to speed,

My wife just got her license and love the semi-auto shifting. We both can ride and have more fun too.

Update to the switch from SM to SE

After reading all the replies I did it! Besides having a wonderful dealership (PowerSports), Cleveland Oh.;) My good friend (Dave) had a 2014 Limited in Congac in a crate & put it together & delivered in 2 days. They put me at the head of the line & so far I absolutely couldn't be happier!:2thumbs: My wife loves the color & it is a real head turner! It took me the 1st stop light to get over not having the manual transmission. I also averaged 39.5 mpg 1st trip out! I was riding with (7) other Spyders & when 2 of my buddies pulled in to get gas one of then pointed to me & said you better fill up now. I looked at my gauge & I had only used a quarter of a tank:thumbup:. I Absolutely positively Love this Bike! I had know idea it would be this different from my 2011RTS. Pictures will follow soon! Thanks to all who responded with the opinions! :D Just ordered over $1500 worth of goodies for my new Baby! This is definitely a keeper!!:2excited:One Happy, Happy, Happy :spyder2: rider!!!!!:yes:20140830_17.jpgThis is it!

When I switched, I reached for the clutch for the 1st 3 stop lights. Since then I have never looked back.

I know this is the exct opposite of others on this thread.

I can't imagine driving a motorcycle with a semi-automatic or automatic shift.
Of course, I always thought the Corvette with automatic was blasphemy.

After having the SM6 for 8 days so far, it has so much torque, it behaves almost like an automatic.
The clutch is feather light.
The engine pulls hard from low RPM up to (almost) redline. No I haven't been in the redline while breaking in a new engine.
This transmission shifts smoother than any I have ever owned.
Put it in 3rd and go almost anywhere you want to go. Although that may not be the best gas mileage the performance is extraordinary.

Just my humble opinion. I could be wrong. Even if I'm not, there will still be those who disagree.
