Have you noticed a decrease in mileage?? I went from 27 to 18, and I'm wondering if it could be as simple as a bad gas cap - sucking my gas out of the overflow..
Any thoughts???

We have gotten 26-30 since day one. Only one fill in two years was over 31 mpg. Average for that period was 28.9 mpg. Upon complaining, I was told that BRP tech support said it was in the "normal" range, so they told the dealer not to address it. When I asked, they said the "normal" range was 16-40 mpg. I'm sure you have something wrong, possibly the throttle position sensor calibration or a bad purge valve, but you are unlikely to get BRP to deal with it. Maybe you would stand a chance if you reported it to Carlo. A change like that is not "normal".
Yeah, have you ever heard of a more CYA policy in your life? That is quite a range!!
After 5 days the dealer couldn't find a problem. Contacted Carlo, and the response was blindly fast (thanks Carlo!), but offered noting the dealer hadn't already tried.
The dealer refused to try the new update, as the list of VIN #s allowed skipped mine, and the fumes are still there, after all of this... which is why I raised the question.
Now my K1200LT, out weighs the Spyder, and out performs it in almost all ways, and gives me an average of 55mpg, and my old Valk (GL1500C), which has 6 carburetors, gives me 35 - even my old Hardley V-rod gave me over 33.. Lot's of benchmarks, but I'm out of ideas.
I live in an area where this kind of milage forces the Spyder to stay home most of the time, and only get used for puttering around town (where it's milage is even worse).
Any way - any suggestions and ideas are welcome - I'm going to tear back into it myself this weekend...
They did the first one - that's where the milage went from 27 to 18... , it was the update to the update that was "declined".

I'm getting 32=39 mpg, before and after update. With high w/shield highway drops to 36 mpg. ALL STOCK, i do use 93 octane.
With a 10+ compresion you need at least 89 octane, like my dodge
hemi. I use 93 because most times the last user pumps 87 so whats
in the line will lower 93 some what . I have 8,600 + miles on the spyder.
