• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Those military belts

Look at the guy on the far right. He has one of those military belts that goes across the chest. What are those called? (and don't say, "military belt that goes across the chest") ;) I have seen Marines wearing one similar with there Alpha uniforms. I assume its ceremonial.

Are you talking about the Sam Browne belt, the wide waist belt with an extra strap going across the wearers' right shoulder?

Yep, the diagonal strap with the wide belt is called a Sam Browne. When I first stated as a police officer, it was part of our uniform. But after a criminal used it to grab one of our guys and punch him in the face, we quit using the straps.

THAT BELT

..I believe it's purpose was to assist carrying the weight of the gun that was attached to the belt ......Mike

They still use them, but now they are break away style so that they can't be used against you, and Sam Browne is the name of the MFG.

It's called a sash. Usually worn next to a king as shown below. Class dismissed.
