• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This is interesting...

I was at the dealer today getting my 1st service on my 2014 RT Limited. A BIG SHOUT OUT to Maximum Power Sports in Peru, IN. They charged me one hour labor ($80.00) (I brought the oil change kit) for my 3000 mile service. I only had 1500 miles on it but I'm leaving for Daytona tomorrow morning and I'll put at least 2500 miles on during the trip. Figured I'd better get it done before I hit the road.

Now the interesting part...

I was talking with an employee (not sure of his position) there and we were looking at a 2015 RT Limited and he did say he knew quite a bit about them. I saw there was no electronic frunk opener. I thought the 15's had it back on? He said they've never had one and the one I had on my '13 must have been after-market. At that point I knew he didn't know what he was talking about.

Does anyone on here have a '15 RT and does it have the electronic frunk opener? Why do I think they were put back on? Did I read it here? Am I going batty?

Some folks know nothing and then they open their mouth and prove it. :roflblack::roflblack:

Don't know about the 15s

Not sure..!!

but thought they did put it back. I think the wiring exsists but it could be an option...at a price..:banghead: hope some lucky new owner will pop in and let us know..

Here we go again--kind of. :roflblack::roflblack:

I tried to order one for my 2014 last summer. It was in the catalog...if my memory is correct. The order came back as discontinued no longer available.

I too am interested. Would really like to know if the elusive frunk opener is really going to be available this year. I have one :spyder2: with (2011), and one without (2014). I have learned to live with not having it, and I am not going to give up my new ride. :roflblack::roflblack:

There are some issues with the website and the catalog not being up to date on some items.

:popcorn::popcorn:

I bought my 2014 RTS in April last year. I had the dealer put the frunk opener on for me (approx $100) before I picked it up.

Me too on the purchase date. I tried to get the switch when it was time for my 3000 mile oil change service--about 6 weeks later. No go.

That sure seems strange, doesn't it. Now you've got me curious as to why I could get it and you couldn't.

Just made an excursion through the BRP accessory catalog on the internet page. I could not find any mention of the frunk opener.

RT-S has it

Our 2014 RT-S has the elusive frunk opening system with a push and turn of the key. For what we all paid for the RT ----this should be standard!!

The best is to buy from the net a electric door actuator and a 12v remote Controle
that's what I did, I don't have to put the key in ignition power the Spyder to open the frunk
i think its the best way and cheaper than BRP

They may have put them on the pre-production demo units - that is what they did in 2014 - and then left them off of the production units. In 2013 an owner had her grandkid sitting on the passenger seat, with the bike running she got off to get something out of the trunk and released the parking brake instead of opening the trunk. The Spyder rolled with the kid on it and she freaked out. She filed a complaint with the NHTSA and (could be a coincidence) no more switches on the Spyder.
