• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i found this picture on the group new england riders, it is a bunch of retired police bikes bought by them and just left out in the open. they believe the plates were photo shopped in, but still a big waste of machines

Not likely....

Being from lima and during my time there the cops rode hondas 450cc mostly. Harleys and indians were used to deliver kerosene for domestic use. Junk yards were few if any cause vehicles were parted out and recycled into other vehicles or made into other things. But could be, I left a long time ago...and they did tend to buy discards from the US....

Once on my way to work I saw a bus that had broken down on the side of the road. I drove by it everyday and watched it slowly be dismanteled. As you can imagine wheels engine and inteiors went first. They were rebuilt and sold to keep others on the road. Seats in many cases became furnitue..nojoke but then the paneling was peeled off and rolled into mufflers. The frame was cut up and used to make small presses with hydraulic jacks and anvil stands etc. Was nothing left to go to a junk yard. The picture is similar to a bike bust offten made from time to time when funds were needed. See there your title had to match exactly to the bikes engine, frame, and color or it was impounded. In my shop you had to leave the bike and the title so when the cops came by you could prove it was legal. Fun times...:thumbup:

i don't know if the police bikes are made to a higher standard than their street bike. but lots of people loo0k to buy them. i met one guy that my friend chuck used to know that had a white one. i would be lying if i said what mileage he had on it, but i remember i was amazed when he told me what it was, and that he had be across country a few times with it. as far as i know, it is still going strong.
