• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

went out early today and put some miles on the bike. then once the dealer opened, i went for a inspection on it. i told the guy the reason there is only 1/2 of the old inspection sticker is because the wind blew and ripped the other on, and that i went through 3 stickers last year.
they put the sticker on the upper left A arm cover. i asked if we can put it somewhere else and he said no. so he took the old one off, cleaned the area really well with alcohol and stuck the new sticker on it. so i went for another few miles with the idea of blowing the dirt off the bike, and low and behold, the new sticker is hanging half way off, now that i am home i am going to use gorilla clear tape and stick that sucker down. anyone else have this problem.

Hi John,
I never lost a sticker; but I use "adhesion promoter" on the lower a-arm, before I put the sticker in place.
It seems to help
It's something that I use to help the coverings for my infusion sets stick to me...

I'd stick the damn thing where I wanted to stick it. Using whatever adhesive that I thought would keep it there for a year. Sounds like your dealer could care less about your issue.

they say this is where they were told to put it. every time it blows off, the give me a new one for free. this one is now taped on so it will be ok

My sticker is on the underside of the passenger foot board. Inspection station told me if I get stopped just lift the foot board, works for me.

Those a frame covers are not smooth,, difficult for any sticker to stick to.

my sticker is on the left shock

 I'd like to be able to use that spot; I wouldn't bet on the State Police up here thinking much of it...
They're supposed to be "visible", from the left front corner of the bike. :gaah:

Bummer...

I'm with the group with no problem....believe it or not in CA they don't inspect or smog motorcycles... so we can pollute and liter all we want....:roflblack::roflblack: and we do....

Starting this year Texas started not doing inspection stickers. You still have to have an inspection to get the the registration done. No inspection, no license plate sticker.

No stickers, no inspections, no nothing in East Tennessee. You just buy it and you ride it. That's why America USED to be a great country everywhere. Now it's only great where they haven't ruined it yet.

Louisiana is good at being different :) they just started the 2yr stickers (more time to forget) yes we need stickers, but can stay tucked away with insurance card & registration , only has to be displayed 24/7by bikes on base (they offer few options how) the rest is keep your plate sticker up to date & if they ask have it in good condition. I baggie mine with my papers in tool kit. Some two wheelers sick in invoice pouch stuck under seats. Each bike has its best safe & dry stash

I wasn't there but I still care! POW /MIA VETS

I can relate to your problem. Just after we moved back to Texas (when they still had stickers) mine was on the back plastic near the license plate. It blew totally off on a long trip. I lucked out though, went back to the inspection sticker and they stuck on a new one at no charge. It wasn't until later that I learned that out of the 14.50 they charged for inspections they had to pay the state 7 for the sticker so he basically gave away anything he make on the first inspection.

It is better now that the inspection is tied into the plate registration. They are probably making more money now because they don't have to produce stickers and there are some classes of trailers that were required to be inspected but since nobody ever looked for stickers on them and you didn't have to prove you passed inspection to get plates, nobody was getting the trailers inspected. Now you can't get plates without having the inspection in the state database.

cuznjohn,

When I purchased my spyder in 2009, the sticker was placed on the front fascia, below the trunk, on the left hand side. That is where Filers Power Sports placed all their stickers on spyders. After that, I went to Ingles Power Sports and they placed their stickers in the same spot as Filer's. I believe in all those years none of the stickers have been removed, with one placed over the other. So far so good. I know there are probably those that wouldn't like that location; but, it doesn't bother me.
