• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

THIS INFO MAY HELP TIRE BUYERS

BLUEKNIGHT911

Sadly Passed Oct 2024 - RIP
There has been quite a bit of chatter about REAR TIRES lately so this may be of interest on the sizing questions , I will list the following revolutions per mile for the following size tires commonly used for the rear tire on all Spyders...#1. 225/50 -15 = 869 revs per mile of rotation. #2. 215/60 -15 = 827 " " " " rotation #3. 205/60 -15 = 843 " " " " As you can see I'm not very talanted with using the computer, but the above figures are accurate......As you see the actual / real size of the three tires are extremely close even tho the listed sizes may let you believe otherwise............This info was gathered from " TIRE RACK " INC. and I thank them for it ....Mike

Gotta say..!!

if I'm speeding that mile difference will matter none to the guy issuing me a ticket...:roflblack:
Good info should help a lot of folks..

How does that affect the ABS? I believe it does on a truck/car. I think it will pulse the brakes and wear the pads out quicker????

YOUR BEAUTIFUL RENDITION

225/50 -15 = 869
215/60 -15 = 827 .95
205/60 -15 = 843 .97

If the Spyder speed is taken from the rear wheel (and I think it is) Then at 60 MPH the indicated speeds would be:

215/60 = 63 MPH
205/60 = 62 MPH

at least I think that's right.
I'm getting a head ache.
Thanks Roger, Mine did look somewhat like yours untill I hit the send key ...:yikes:
...

So far no one using any of these sizes ( and there are many people using them ) have reported any ABS or other " NANNY " related issues.......I have the OEM size in a Kumho and the 205/60-15 and NO PROBLEMS..........Mike

TIRE SIZE CHANGE = GEAR RATIO CHANGE

I have ran 215/60/r15 for my winter tires and you will run higher, on a stock tire size 118 mph on the speedo is really 112mph according to a radar gun and with the winter tire size it is worse about 122ish for 112.

they do work and do not effect the abs or fault the nanny.

the best snow tire I have found, especially studded.

Yo Seth, When you mount a larger circumference tire ...effectively you are gearing UP ie. going from a set of 4:10's ...to say 3:55's rear end gears.....It will increase your top end. AnnnnnnnnD.... IF you have the PONIES to pull it...:shemademe_smilie:....:2excited:....:roflblack:..:roflblack:...:roflblack:....And we are going to send you some incredible pictures that will totally blow your MIND....:agree:......:yes::yes:

Tire Calculator

I've used two of the 205 sizes; first was General Altimax and GPS put it at 1 mile over indicated at speeds from 40MPH up to 70. Second tire is a Pirilli? and it flicks from 1-2 miles over indicated so I call it a 1 1/2 over.

Heres an easy calculator
