This important,perplexing question came to me at lunch

When did it stop being "Man" and start being "Dude" and what is the age cutoff for each phrase.

I thought dude stopped awhile back, and man before it. As far as Boss goes, it's typically because of knowledge, not age. I think Brah is one of the more recent terms.

I must be " pops " as I've never called anybody " dude " If I need to get a strangers attention I call them "hay buddy" or "sir". If it's a woman it's always " mam" or " miss". If I know a person's name ( which I'll forget within 5 minutes ) I call them by their name of course. Maybe it's my age or demeanor but I don't get called " dude" either.
