• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This got me to thinking...

Worst case but if you away traveling and get a rear flat and have to replace a tire (automotive type in a pinch) removing and reinstalling would be ok but what would you do about the belt tension?? I understand it is really critical to have proper tension, even more so on a 13. Is there a belt tension gauge a person could carry? I got a rear blowout on my 02 Goldwing and that was not fun and thats when I went over to the "darkside"

Lamont has a little " how to" video on taking the rear wheel off without disturbing the belt tension, it's the only way I've ever removed mine. If you want to do it the old fashioned way there is a very small tool that would fit in the tool kit, a kricket guage , that seems to work well for checking belt tension.

I have a tire plug kit and a can of Fix A Flat in my travel kit. It's should get me to a repair shop.

So if..!!

you can't plug it, slime it, fix a flat it and have to replace it...then get a reading using a "Krikit" belt tension gauge before you take tge wheel off..this will make it possible to get the tension back to your starting point. "Gate's" makes them and amazone ebay etc sell them. The best reading is to do it after the dealer has done the sonic adjustment. There are other ways, manual twisting the belt but will vary with the tension needed but works in an emergency....

That the info I was looking for. I do carry a plug kit and a c02 inflator just incase but was wondering about the "what if" if you had to replace a tire. I seen Lamont's video and I can see how that would work but your limited out on a ride and I don't think it would help you there.

The Krikit 2 gauge from NAPA or a Harley gauge would do. Take a reading now, preferably after a dealer has set the tension properly with his sonic gauge, to compare or set back to later. The avreage of three reading spaced evenly around the belt is best.

I have the tension2go android app and it works perfectly if you pick the right belt( they do not have a BRP) and put the max length in (899 IIRC). I had my 2013 belt tensioned at the dealer a few weeks back and checked it with the app a and it measured 1020n. You need a good phone with the mic at the bottom and flick the belt to get it to register a frequency. There was a thread by Roger on this app. Try a search.

I found and downloaded the app (tension2 go) could you list the settings you found that get close to the BRP belt. I have played around with it but I'm not getting something in there right??
