• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Third Brake Light

Custom Dynamics also has a version with red running and brake lights, and amber turn signals.

The comment about mounting with the sticky tape is completely correct - 1 try to get it right.

brake light

Thanks for the info, I'll give the Custom Dynamics a try. Not sure about the blinky thing...

Shawn Smoak, ace macanic of Pro Caliber in Vancouver has told us to be very carefull of some of the electronics with gizmoes as they rasise hell with the spyder electronics.

I also have the HMT custom brake light (also works as a running light when brakes are not applied) on my bike also the turn signal LEDs. They are bright and fits with the bike perfect. Really bright and noticeable.

QUOTE=jaherbst;10is the 6077]Custom Dynamics, don't leave home without it. The module allows many different flash settings and is by far the very very best I have seen and used. Small module can easily go under sear and is about one inch square by 2 1/2 inches.

I have had these on both my Spyders and would not ride without them. The flashing module is the attention getter.

Thanks Jack. This is the unit that I've just purchased. Good to hear your comments.

Dumb question...but have to ask

Is there any way to order the CD Brake light without their backing so one could just use silicone to attach instead of their sticky stuff one will never get off?

If what they are using is something like 3M double sticky automotive trim mounting tape I think you stand a lot better chance of getting it off cleanly than you do silicone sealant.

It took me quite a lot of time to get the TON of 3M tape off the back light. It was not easy.
Patience and some Goo Be Gone helped a lot.

My 1st installation of this light didn't go quite right - very slightly crooked (so slight I was the only one who noticed, but that was enough). Custom Dynamics was very sympathetic and suggested I leave it alone, but they also told me how to remove it.

Get some stiff fishing line, spray the edges of the tape with WD-40, work the line behind the tape. Keep applying WD-40 and working the line until you get the whole thing loose. Not easy but very effective. 2nd installation was perfect.

Whelen tir3...more info please

Whalen tir3. It's a public safety light. Small led, flashing and incredibly bright. I have had them on 6 different bikes over 12 years.

Looked these up....which specific light have you found successful? More mounting/hookup info please. Thanks much!!!!!

I will ask also. I've had a Whelen 500 mounted to several different bikes over the last 15 years. It is mounted to a license plate bracket and I am considering mounting it on the spyder but the license plate is too low for a HMBL (had a Givi trunk HMBL). I'm interested in pics of the installed light and the model you used. Thanks.

the custom dynamics third brake light is plenty bright..Dont need no fancy flashers on it..JMO

:agree:
When I installed my [fancy] Signal Dynamics Wig-wag brake light modulator, I installed it AFTER the top Custom Dynamics high brake light. I think the combination of the steady top light, and the modulating side brake lights, is a real "attention getter".
